Hi, today we would like to talk about the proper procedure for applying the sterile probe cover to the acuson freestyle probes before we get started, I'd like to remind you to review all warnings and cautions included in the acuson freestyle user manual as well as the instructions and warnings included with the Stereo Pro Cover guide and biopsy kit. There are two primary ways for covering the wireless probe with sterile cover. The unique design of the acuson freestyle wireless probe enables it to stand up vertically as you see here, which allows for a single person operation. In addition to this, you can use more of the conventional two person method that you would use on a typical cable probe. The biopsy kit that I will be using here is available through Siemens and manufactured by Sifco, so the first thing I'm going to do is pick up the still probe cover and I will point out that there's A tag with the picture on it showing you the proper orientation of the probe as you insert it into the cover, and the reason for this is as you fold the cover over, you want to make sure that the full does not cover the pro controls. So I stuck my hand through the bottom of the cover as you see here. Make a little pocket with my fingers. Make sure that the base of the cover is sitting in my palm, and then I'll simply grab the probe. And then I remove the adhesive strips that are on the back here. Then you simply pull the sheet over the probe. Making sure not to touch the inside of it. And then wrap it around. Make sure that the pro controls are showing nice and clear. You don't want any wrinkles in here because it could interfere with the sensitivity of the buttons. And then the last step is we're going to make sure that we have everything nice and secure, so we'll grab rubber band. And simply paste it, place it around the face of the probe. And you're ready to scan. With the two person method, there are two options for covering the probe with the so Pro cover. The first option is to have a non sterile user place the probe into the pro cover like so. The second option is to have the non sterile user hold approach upright and with my sterile hand I will grab the pro cover again exposing the adhesive strip. Removing the adhesion's. And then simply continuing as if you were doing the one person method. Now I would like to demonstrate how to cover the probe when using a biopsy guy bracket. You'll start by having a non sterile user attach a bracket to the probe, which I've already had them do. Then they will apply a small amount of gel to the face of the probe. Again, this is the non sterile user doing this piece, not the sterile user such as myself. I will cover the probe using the single user method an again being sure to grab all the way around the bracket. Expose the adhesive strips. I've already taken off the etesians. And simply pull it all the way around the probe. Make sure it's nice and tight, wrap it around and spread it so that the controls are nice and easily seen. And get your rubber band. Wrap it around. Then you take your needle guide. Simply click it into place. Now I'd like to demonstrate what not to do when you first pick up the Pope cover. Do not simply open the cover all the way like so and do not have a non sterile user squirt a big glob of gel into the bag directly. Don't do that. The next thing you don't want to have them do is drop the probe into the bag like so. What this does is it smears the gel throughout the bag. It will also affect the sensitivity of the controls if the gel gets on the controls.
