Hi I want to talk to you about how to properly position a console an probes for optimal wireless scanning 6 antenna are located in each proband. Two antenna are located in the upper left corner of the console with the console unit powered on. Hold the probe within 3 meters of the console with a line of sight to the front of the console and without obstructions between the probes and the console. The freestyle console has a wireless signal quality meter that represents the wireless probe signal quality. Position the proban system to maximize the signal quality by staying inside the three meter range and maintaining a good line of sight between the probe an the console without obstructing the antenna. You will be able to operate with good results. The wireless signal indicator, which is located in the bottom portion of the screen, will display up to six bars that indicate the wireless signal quality. When four to six bars are displayed, expect a very reliable wireless pro performance without noise being introduced because of the wireless signal quality. With three bars, a very reliable wireless pro performance is still expected, but there is a possibility of low levels of noise being introduced into the image. This noise is typically imperceptible. Reorient the probe an the console to within 3 meters of each other in a line of sight without obstructions between the probe an the console with less than 3 bars there is an increased possibility of noise being introduced into the image because of a compromised wireless probe link. When there are no bars displayed, the wireless signal has been lost, causing the image screen to be blank and message appears on the console screen informing you of this condition. The radio frequency transmitters used in the acuson freestyle to send image data from the probe to the console are designed to cover distances of no more than 3 meters. It's important to make sure that the distance between the probes and the console does not exceed 3 meters. Improve performance may be achieved with shorter distances when scanning. Do not place your hand over the top portion of the probe because by doing so you may cover up the primary internal antennas and disrupt the wireless communication within the console. Hold your hands towards the front of the probe. The console and probes should be oriented with the console facing the location of the probe with a clear line of sight. The quality of the wireless link is weak and if the Co location of the two is too far out of plane either horizontally or vertically. The antennas in the console that communicate with the probe are located in the upper left corner of the display. Do not block these console locations. They must form a clear line of sight with the probe. Because of the wireless probe technology, the acuson freestyle system can be position with great flexibility. For example, the Axon Freestyle console can be easily located on the opposite side of the patient without having to worry about the cable draping over the patient. This is especially important when operating in a sterile environment, but let me add a word of caution. Operating more than one acuson freestyle system in wireless probe mode in the same room where a probe is within 5 meters of an unintended console.
