ACUSON NX3™ Series Ultrasound System, Transducers

This web-based tutorial includes a discussion of transducers available on the ACUSON NX3 System.

Transducers               ACUSON NX3 Series Ultrasound Systems Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Recognize transducer managment options Discuss transducers Demonstrate connecting a transducer Outline transducer care and cleaning There are 3 areas for transducer and / or cable management: Transducer holders on either side of the system with exterior hooks A large cable hanger on the underside of the control pane Cable hooks on the peripheral storage area and above the transducer ports on the front of the system   Next we will demonstrate the steps to connect a transducer. In the unlocked position, insert the transducer into the port located on the front of the system Turn the lock clockwise until it locks into place Next let’s discuss some transducer care and cleaning. Observing the specified immersion levels indicated for each transducer type helps avoid damage Transducers meet Ingress Protection level IPX8 and are indicated by the presence of the “IPX8” symbol on the connector of the transducer Immersion levels   To clean a transducer: Disconnect the transducer from the system Remove any gel or particles remaining on the transducer with water or an approved pre-cleaner or low-level disinfectant Carefully wipe the entire transducer Use a clean cloth to dry the transducer   To disinfect or high-level disinfect a transducer: Disconnect the transducer Thoroughly clean, rinse, and dry the transducer Keep the connector dry during immersion Carefully follow the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions Use a clean cloth to dry the transducer once disinfection is complete In this sumary, these are the topics that have been covered:   We covered various transducer management options and discused transducers We demonstrated how to connect, care for, and clean transducers Thank you!
