ACUSON S2000 ABVS Cleaning and Disinfecting Job Aid

This guide shows how to clean and disinfect the ACUSON S2000 ABVS. 

Cleaning and Disinfecting ACUSON S2000™ Automated Breast Volume (ABVS) Scanner Surface Cleaning 1. Power off and unplug the ACUSON S2000 ABVS from the wall and disconnect the ABVS transducer from the ultrasound system. 2. Use a clean gauze pad or lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with a mild detergent to wipe the surfaces of the ACUSON S2000 ABVS transducer. 3. Ensure the cleaning solution does not seep into any openings. 4. After cleaning, use a clean, lint-free cloth to dry the surface. Tilt the transducer pod upward. 2. Grasp the membrane attached to the transducer pod and pull downward to remove. 3. Remove the membrane attached to the transducer pod. 4. Moisten a clean gauze pad with water and wipe the transducer to remove any acoustic coupling agent (lotion) or particles remaining on the transducer. 5. Use a clean gauze pad or lint-free cloth, lightly moistened with a mild detergent to wipe the transducer and pod. 6. To disinfect the transducer, use a disinfecting wipe to clean the entire transducer. 7. Carefully follow the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions. 8. After cleaning or disinfecting, use a clean cloth to dry the transducer.
