ACUSON SC2000™ Volume Imaging Ultrasound System – eSie VVI™ Velocity Vector Imaging (VVI)

This is a step by step reviewing the process of how to acquire images, perform eSie VVI on them and to calculate global longitudinal strain.

ACUSON SC2000™ Volume Imaging Ultrasound System – eSie VVI™ Velocity Vector Imaging (VVI) Calculate GLS Acquisition of Apical Views 1) Set clip capture to 3 beats 2) Optimize the apical 4 chamber and 2 chamber images  Frame rate 70-90 FPS  Do not use RES - Do not foreshorten - Do not under gain  Have patient hold their breath to limit movement during the capture  Ensure good endocardial borders 3) Extended R-R capture must be turned on (remember to turn off when VVI image acquisi- tions are completed) 4) Freeze image and click Clip store 5) Repeat steps 1-4 for each apical view Launching and Performing VVI Strain Application 1) Right click on image and select VVI 2) Freeze image and scroll to when endocardial borders are optimally visualized 3) Select view and trace contours 4) Left click to place points in the endocardium (Be sure to leave out trabeculae and papil- lary muscles) 5) Right click to end the trace 6) Add Epi Contour a. Use arrows to adjust width (Width defaults to 10mm) 7) Select ANALYSIS 8) Turn off vectors and watch the tracking a. To Edit, go back to contour step and scroll through the frames b. Edit endocardial points that are not tracking well i. Left click to grab green dot, left click to drop ii. Click scissor icon to erase entire trace if you want to redo c.
