The first approach is the Touch-based user interface. This interface allows the operator to select functions in the areas highlighted in gray. The operator may: change imaging parameters, add customized text, and utilize measurement packages. The second approach is the traditional point and click method. For some functions, like entering patient information, it may be easier to use the traditional point and click method. Control Panel Design SIEMENS Healthineers Workflow Driven Approach 4 A A A Registration Acquisition Documentation .......... Review and Report 4 4 Scale Measure .................. ....................................................................................... .................... ........... HC US MSC S SET Page 4 | Unrestricted C Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. 2017 The ACUSON P500 ultrasound system control panel offers a simplified user interface using a Workflow Driven Approach. This approach focuses on the 4 main areas of performing an exam: registration, acquisition, documentation and the review / report. 1. Registration: These keys are grouped to the left off the keyboard. This is a typical registration location. To perform an exam, a patient must first be registered. Next the appropriate Exam type must be selected. Select the Exam key. This is where the exams supported by the selected transducer will appear. 2. Acquisition: Once the application and transducer is selected, the system automatically loads the preset parameters. There are country specific presets available. Acquisition is achieved by the keys that are labeled in the dark purple color on the slide. The acquisition keys are utilized for selecting / changing modes, depths, optimizing the Doppler scale, etc. The Image Optimization Keys are secondary acquisition keys and are utilized less frequently (located on the top row of image optimization keys and DGC). 3. Documentation: The Print and Store selection are labeled in orange — logically grouped next to the Freeze key. 4. Review and Report: Once the exam is completed, the operator may select the Review and / or Report key to review images and the report. Control Panel SIEMENS Healthineers Power On / Off ............. Print and Store Touch Pad ....... Freeze HC US MSC S SET Page 5 | Unrestricted C Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. 2017 To review the specific controls on the control panel, it is easiest to begin by describing the keys from top to bottom. The Power On / Off key powers the system on or off. The top row of keys are the soft keys. The functions will change according to the mode that is being performed. For example, if measuring, the soft key options will offer measurement options. The soft keys may also be controlled by the Touch Screen. The workflow keys are located below the Power On / Off key. The workflow keys are: Registration, Exam, Review, Report. Below the Report key is the Browser, Configuration and Help key. The DCG is located to the far right. The system has TEQ technology, so the DGCs should be infrequently utilized. The major mode keys are located in the center of the control panel. The keys are grouped logically with the 2D controls (including TEQ technology and Depth) on the right and the Doppler controls (including Baseline, Scale and Invert on the left). Two User Defined keys are on the bottom left of the control panel. These can be set-up in the configuration menu. The User Defined keys can be programmed for multiple functions such as: Trapezoid, U / D Flip, L / R Flip, Full Size, Full Doppler, Full M-Mode, Arrow, Clip Store, Biopsy, TEQ Update, Steer Right or Steer Left, Text, DVR, Needle Visualization, CW, Simultaneous, Dual, Split or None. Important to note, with the 2.0 release CW and the Arrow may be stored in the User Defined keys. This is especially useful for echo exams and workflow. To customize the User Defined keys, select Config > Custom Keys > User Defined 1 or User Defined 2. In the center of the control panel is the Touch Pad. The Freeze key is located logically just to the right of the Touch Pad. The bottom right side of the panel are the documentation keys where the operator may Print, Store, Clip Store or activate the measurement screen. A few keys are highlighted that provide specific functionality for everyday exams. The New key closes the study, depending on the system configuration. It allows the operator to bypass the patient registration page and begin scanning. This is useful in the Emergency department. The Arrow key displays an arrow on the image screen to point out anatomy or areas of interest on the image. The Alt key provides access to special characters required for some languages when used in combination with the alphanumeric keys. The special characters are printed at the top of the alphanumeric keys. The Text key activates the annotation function. The Body Markers key activates the body marker function and displays the default body marker for the active exam. Supports Touch Interaction SIEMENS Tap, Slide or Swipe functionality Customizable to User-preference Programmable Screen Saver CUSON PSO ......................................................................... SIEMENS HC US MSC S SET Page 9 | Unrestricted C Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. 2017 The system has a 15.4 in Flat Panel Display (LCD, high resolution, and progressive scan (non- interlaced) with Multi-domain Vertical Alignment Technology). This technology allows the brightness of the LC molecules to appear uniform over a wide variety of viewing angles. The system supports touch interaction – one finger tap, slide and swipe. The Touch-based user interface allows the operator to select functions in the areas highlighted in gray. The operator may: change imaging parameters, add customized text, and utilize measurement packages. During real-time imaging, the screen displays clinical images, operating parameters, patient data, and control commands. The user can customize many of the screen elements to accommodate your preferences and workflow. Note: During real-time imaging, the part of the screen that displays the image does not support touch technology. During review, the entire screen supports touch technology. The screen saver feature automatically freezes the system and replaces the active display with a screen saver after the system has been inactive for a specified number of minutes. Exit the active screen saver by pressing any key, adjusting any control, or tapping the touchpad.
