The system is a hand-carried ultrasound system with a touch user-interface. An integrated SMART Cart is available that allows up to 3 transducers to be connected. The systems has many advanced imaging technologies that will be discussed in the Major Modes presentation. Automated workflow with esie Measure support Cardiac measurements. Many service features have been added including eSie Link remote access for online support. The system has 10 transducers and 4 Ultrasound intracardiac catheters. Utilizing the Windows 7 Operating system, the ACUSON P500 ultrasound system, release 2.0 provides the latest in technology and flexibility. Complete with 180 GB of memory, it provides excellent speed, storage and review capability. The system utilizes digital beamformer technology which provides signal integrity throughout the entire signal path – from transducer to display. This provides excellent wide-bandwidth imaging. It also provides precise and sensitive color Doppler. This technology migrated from our premium Siemens platforms. The Parallel Quad beam formation provides up to 5088 processing channels for increased temporal resolution and fast processing speeds. A new front end was added to provide better use of the channels and a wider transmit bandwidth. This provides excellent sensitivity and spatial resolution. The new mid-processor on the ACUSON P500 system provides the gateway for advanced technologies such as: Advanced SieClear™ Spatial Compounding, TEQ™ ultrasound technology, Siemens remote technologies (SRS)*, Dynamic Persistence and Color Doppler Flash Suppression. These technologies provide increased usability and diagnostic confidence. This technology allows the brightness of the LC molecules to appear uniform over a wide variety of viewing angles. The system supports touch interaction – one finger tap, slide and swipe. The Touch-based user interface allows the operator to select functions in the areas highlighted in gray. The operator may: change imaging parameters, add customized text, and utilize measurement packages. The resolution is (1280 X 800) pixels. The recordable image area (800 X 600) pixels. The viewing angle is approximately 176 degrees. The energy saving feature enables a screen saver after a specified period of time. The system also offers an alphanumeric keyboard and direct access keys for image optimization as well as the touch technology. The Touch Screen offers complimentary actions with the soft keys and virtual keyboard. There is also a 3 inch Touch pad that utilizes gesture control (Pinch, Tap and Slide) functionality. The battery is located on the underside of the system (see large arrow). The small arrow represents the battery release mechanism. Prior to using the battery for the first time, connect the system to a power outlet for at least three hours. The operating time when fully charged is approximately 1 hour. Per the manual guidelines, if the ultrasound system is not used regularly, remove the battery during any lengthy non-use period. Additional batteries may be purchased. It weighs approximately 63.8 kg / 140 pounds. There is a multi-transducer module that supports up to three transducers which work simultaneously available. There are two shelves for storage of peripherals and supplies and 4 transducer and gel holders that can be easily removed. There are several input / output connectors on the back of the cart illustrated by the small arrow. The HDMI supports an External monitor and there is an Ethernet connection and a DC out port. Additional power plugs are also available at the bottom of the cart for the peripherals. Please note. The first two are currently active and available. The 3rd is reserved for future use. Connect a Siemens approved barcode reader directly to a USB port on the system. It supports 2D and 1D patient barcode: Originally, barcodes represented data in the widths (lines) and the spacing of parallel lines: 1D - linear or one dimensional lines and spacing. 2D - patterns of squares, dots, hexagons and other geometric patterns within images matrix codes or symbologies. It can scan up to three individual barcodes (Patient, Physician, and Sonographer). The Barcode reader inputs the following patient identifying data: Patient First and Last Name, Patient and Physician ID, and Sonographer. Once the barcode is scanned, it will enter the information that has been selected in the configuration menu (under Barcode). Wireless Data Transfer utilizes internal Wi-Fi module to enable wireless connectivity between the ultrasound system and the facility’s LAN. This provides functionality equivalent to a wired network. Recommend to use only the 5 GHz frequency bandwidth to reduce potential radio interference from the 2.4 GHz frequency bandwidth. SW downloadable patch, service partition, short software installation time ,service problem report tool and probe saver feature. SW downloadable patch: To reduce system down time a software patch download is available . The CSE can download the patch from the intranet and then visit the customers site to install the patch rather than wait for it to be shipped. The Service Partition is a dedicated partition for storing recovery images. If a software issue arises, the customer may contact the Customer Care Center and the system can be up and running in approximately 30 min. Short software reload time: If a software reload is needed, the installation time was reduced from approximately 30 – 40 min ( Revision 1.0) to approximately 20 minutes with Revision 2.0. With the ACUSON P500 system, release 1.0, any type of installation triggered a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) which took 30 – 40 minutes to run. With the latest revision level, the CRC is now optional and more efficient. The software is shipped with the system and customer can work with their service engineer to reload remotely. The Service problem report tool is the ability for the customer to choose a save log to report incidents. The customer may simply press Ctrl + L. A pop-up window will appear where the customer may fill in details for Software, Hardware or Network. Probe Saver: The systems has a feature called Probe Saver which reduces transmit power automatically when a probe is idle for a set period of time. This is discussed in the next slide. One the transducer is placed on the skin and tissue is recognized, the power automatically adjusts to normal scanning. This feature is not-enabled when the system ships from the factory. This is an illustration of the Probe Saver feature. Notice, the first image on the left, illustrates active scanning. The middle image illustrates no scanning mode. The third image illustrates the decreased transducer power. This feature will only work if it is activated in the system and is set-up in the Configuration Menu. The manual provides detailed instructions as well as the approved disinfecting wipes and solutions. The system should be powered off and the power plug removed when cleaning the system. The topics listed are just a few of the requirements for care and cleaning. This may seem like basic information, but many non-traditional users may utilize this system for scanning, so it is important to review this for all new installations or anytime the customer is using the system alone regardless of the institution or medical facility. From the manual—daily checklist If your system's power cord is frayed or split, or shows signs of wear, contact your Siemens service representative for power cord replacement. Visually inspect the ECG connector and the cable. Do not use the ECG function if the connector or cable is damaged or broken. Verify that the touchpad, DGC slide controls, and other controls on the control panel are clean and free from gel or other contaminants. Once the system is powered on: Visually check the on-screen displays and lighting. 27 Care and Cleaning SIEMENS Healthineers Approved Disinfectant Wipes for the Ultrasound System Surfaces The following matrix provides a list of approved disinfectant wipes for use on the ultrasound system and surfaces of the listed components.
