ADVIA® Autoslide System Troubleshooting Job Aid SIEMENS ADVIA® Autoslide Troubleshooting Tips The list below contains explanations and actions for the Autoslide errors which may occur. TIP # 1: BE PATIENT The Autoslide may not respond immediately to a command, under certain circumstances, it may take up to 30 seconds for a response from the system. This is due to communication restraints between the ADVIA 2120 and the Autoslide. It is important to allow time for the system to respond – do not click the mouse multiple times. TIP # 2: SMEARER ERRORS In addition to clearing the source of the problem (ie: removing a jammed rack, etc.) check the Autoslide Status Screen when an error occurs. If only the smearer is RED, a RESET SMEARER will restore the system to "Ready" (GREEN) and allow any slides currently being stained to continue processing. In some cases, it may be necessary to perform a second RESET SMEARER to eliminate the error. NOTE: When resetting Smearer, ignore “Smearer Module Not Ready” message. TIP # 4: MESSAGE LOG Autoslide Error Messages are logged to the Message Log in the order they occur. If a Critical Error is displayed, go to the postings just before the Critical Error and click on Details for possible additional information. TIP # 5: Do Not Interrupt If for any reason, the power needs to be cycled to the Autoslide, wait 30 seconds before powering back on. Allow the instrument to reconnect the communication link with the ADVIA 2120 before using. GPE02002.006 2 of 2 Effective Date: 07/18/2011
