Replacing the Perox Lamp Job Aid

This job aid provides instructions for replacing the Perox Lamp on the ADVIA® 2120i Hematology System. Additional instructions are provided for maximizing the Perox Lamp Output after the lamp is replaced.

off the instrument. Wait 10 minutes, open the lid and then disconnect the orange cable that is located at the back of the peroxy sembly. Unscrew the securing cap located on the back of the peroxy sembly by turning it counterclockwise. Remove the perox lamp. Insert a new lamp, making sure not to touch the lamp. And tighten the securing cap. Reconnect the cable. The final step is to turn on the instrument.

ADVIA® Hematology Systems Replacing the Perox Lamp Job Aid Replacing the Tungsten Halogen Lamp 1. Analyzer mode: OFF, wait at least 10 minutes 2. Disconnect the Lamp Power Plug located on the back of the assembly by squeezing the sides of the red connector and pulling apart. Unscrew the black lamp securing cap and remove lamp 3. Insert the new lamp and tighten the securing cap. Be careful not to touch the surface of the new lamp 4. Reconnect the red Lamp Power Plug and power the analyzer on. NOTE: When analyzer is Ready to Run, proceed to Maximize the Perox Lamp Output (see next page) Effective Date: 9/17/2015 - HILS1643 ADVIA® Hematology Systems Replacing the Perox Lamp Job Aid Maximize the Perox Lamp Output 1. Analyzer Mode: Ready to Run. Select Procedures > 1 Adjust Lamp/Temp > Perox Lamp Alignment > Start Cycle 2. Check the Current A/D Reading. The maximum A/D reading should be between 1.96 and 4.99 volts. 3. To adjust, loosen the two securing screws (1) on the back of assembly. In small increments, first turn the side Alignment Screw (2), then the top Alignment Screw counterclockwise or clockwise. Allow 5 to 10 seconds for the screen to update between each increment. The final adjustment should be in the clockwise direction. Note: If, before any adjustments are performed, the initial reading is > 4.90 select Set Light Intensity and repeat steps 1-3. 2 4. Once the value is maximized, tighten the securing screws in the back to lock the lamp in position and Exit the Perox Lamp Adjustment Screen. 5. Select Utilities > Analyzer Status and check light intensity for the Perox Lamp. Note: If the value is < 119 repeat step 1 and select Set Light Intensity. Check the gains for the Perox channel. 6.
