ADVIA® 360 Hematology System Daily Startup Online Training

Empty waste and reset waste level. Perform daily shutdown and startup. Check and replace reagents. Perform blank meansure. Troubleshoot blank measurement flags. Check for air bubbles. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Welcome to the ADVIA® 360 Hematology System Daily Startup Online Training course. In this course, you will learn how to perform daily startup tasks which helps ensure the system performs optimally. Select ► to continue. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Identify how to empty waste and reset waste level Identify how to perform Daily Shutdown and Startup Identify how to check and replace reagents Identify the steps to run a Blank Measurement and troubleshoot Blank Measurement flags Select ► to continue. Identify how to check for air bubbles in the system   Congratulations. You have completed the Advia 360 Hematology System Daily Startup Online Training course. Listed below are the key points that have been presented. Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz. Select this link to download and print a copy of the Course Review. Identify how to empty waste and reset waste level Before turning on the system, check the contents of the waste container. Empty the container when needed. Reset the waste level by navigating from the Home screen to Maintenance > Reagent Status > Empty Waste. If the system connects directly into a drain, the waste tracking setting will be set to Off, and it is not necessary to track the waste level. Identify how to perform Daily Shutdown and Startup Shutdown: From the Home screen, select Exit > Shutdown. The system will initiate a Cleaning sequence. Turn off the power when the system emits a tone and displays a warning message. Press the Power Switch located on the back of the analyzer to complete the shutdown. Startup Power on all external devices including the host computer and printer. Press the Power Switch to turn on the analyzer. The ADVIA 360 screen appears followed by the Home screen. The system automatically runs a priming cycle if the fluid sensors are turned on and the fluidic system requires additional liquid. Caution Wait 5 minutes to allow the instrument to warm-up before initiating any measuring process. Identify how to check for air bubbles Inspect the rear reagent liquid connections and syringes (except for the waste line). If bubbles are present, prime the reagent (Maintenance > Reagent Status > Prime All) then perform a blank run. Identify how to check and replace reagents ADVIA 360 Lyse 3P Diff From the Home screen, select Maintenance > Reagent Status Select Replace Remove the depleted Reagent Hardware key from the Reagent Lock Slot Insert the new Reagent HW key with the gold contacts facing downwards Scan the reagent barcode and replace reagent Select Accept ADVIA 360 Cleaner and Diluent   From the Home screen, select Maintenance > Reagent Status Select Replace Scan the reagent barcode Replace the corresponding reagent Select Accept  Identify the steps to perform Blank Measurement and troubleshoot Blank Measurement Flags. A Blank Measurement is performed: Before running patient samples, controls or calibrators At the beginning of each shift When the system has been inactive at least 3 hours After replacing reagents After performing maintenance To run a Blank Measurement, select Measure > Blank > Start The Blank Measurement sequence is: Status light turns red Regents are primed Measurement system is flushed Sample door, syringe, needle x/y movement and shear valve motors are activated and tested Vacuum system is activated Pumps, pressure sensors and vacuum leakage is tested Empty results screen displays Blank measurement is performed and displayed. Troubleshoot Blank Measurement Flags as follows: If parameters are out of range, select Re-blank to run a blank cycle If values are consistently high, select Maintenance > Cleaning to run a cleaning procedure. Then repeat the Blank Measurement. If values remain out of range after cleaning, perform a Hard Cleaning. Place 1 mL of ADVIA Hypoclean CC solution in a 5 mL sample Tube Place sample tube in the sample rotor Select Maintenance > Cleaning > Hard Cleaning > OK Repeat Blank Measurement Select Accept if Blank Measurement is in range If Blank Measurement remains out of range, contact your Siemens Service Representative. Select ► to continue. Before turning on the system, empty the contents of the waste container After disposing of the waste content, reset the waste level by navigating from the Home screen to Maintenance > Reagent Status > Empty Waste. The waste counter will be reset to 0%. If your system connects directly into a drain, the waste tracking setting will be set to Off, and it is not necessary to track the waste level. Select ► to continue. Daily Shutdown Daily Startup The ADVIA 360 Hematology System should be shut down on a daily basis. From the Home screen, select Exit > Shutdown. The system will initiate a Cleaning sequence. The power can be turned off when the system emits a tone and displays a warning message. Press the Power Switch located on the back of the analyzer to complete the shutdown.   Power on all external devices including the host computer and printer.
