Welcome to the ADVIA® 560/560 AL Hematology System Daily Startup Online Training course. In this course, you will learn how to perform the daily startup tasks which helps ensure the system performs optimally.  Select ► to continue. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Identify how to perform daily shutdown and startup Identify the steps to run Blank Measurement and troubleshoot Blank Measurement flags Identify how to check and replace reagents Identify how to empty waste and reset waste level Select ► to continue.   Congratulations. You have completed the ADVIA 560/560 AL Hematology System Daily Startup Online Training course. Listed below are the key points that have been presented. Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz. Identify how to empty waste and reset waste level Before turning on the system, check the contents of the waste container. Empty the container if needed. Reset the waste level by navigating from the Home screen to Maintenance > Reagent Status > Empty Waste. If the system connects directly into a drain, the waste tracking setting will be set to Off, and it is not necessary to track the waste level. Identify how to perform Daily Shutdown and Startup Shutdown: From the Home screen, select Exit > Shutdown. The system will initiate a Cleaning sequence. Dilute 1 mL ADVIA Hypoclean CC with 2 mL deionized water in a clean 5 mL tube. Place the tube in the Sample Rotor and select Ok. Power off the Main Power switch when cleaning is completed. Power off the auto-loader and printer, if applicable. Startup Power on the main power switch. Press the system computer switch and, if applicable, the auto-loader and printer. Select Menu > Diagnostics > Reagent Status > Reset Waste to empty waste and reset the waste level. Select Home > Diagnostics > Reagent Status to replace any needed reagents. Run Blank Measurement by selecting Measure > Blank > Start. Evaluate the results and select Accept if measurement is in range. Identify how to check and replace reagents The software alerts when 50 measurements remain. ADVIA 560 Lyse From the Home screen, select Maintenance > Diagnostics > Reagent Status. Remove the depleted Reagent Hardware key from the Reagent Lock Slot located on the back of the instrument. Insert the new Reagent key with the barcode facing the back of the instrument. Scan the reagent barcode. Select Yes at the prompt. Replace the reagent. ADVIA 560 Diff 5P and Diluent  From the Home screen, select Menu > Diagnostics > Reagent Status. Scan the reagent barcode. Select Yes at the prompt. Replace the reagent.  Identify the steps to perform Blank Measurement and troubleshoot Blank Measurement Flags. A Blank Measurement is performed: When prompted by the software When greater than 2 hours elapsed since last sample measurement After replacing reagents  The Blank Measurement sequence is: Select Measure > Blank > Start Status light turns red Reagents are primed Measurement system is flushed Sample door, syringe, needle x/y movement and shear valve motors are activated and tested Vacuum system is activated Pumps, pressure sensors and vacuum leakage is tested Empty results screen displays Blank measurement is performed and displayed. Troubleshoot Blank Measurement Flags as follows: If parameters are out of range, select Re-blank to run a blank cycle If values are consistently high, select Maintenance > Cleaning to run a cleaning procedure. Then repeat the Blank Measurement. If values remain out of range after cleaning, perform a Hard Cleaning. Dilute 1 mL of ADVIA Hypoclean CC solution with 2 mL of dionized water in a 5 mL sample Tube. Place sample tube in the sample rotor. Select Maintenance > Cleaning > Hard Cleaning > OK. Repeat Blank Measurement. Select Accept if Blank Measurement is in range. If Blank Measurement remains out of range, contact your Siemens Service Representative. Select ► to continue. Before turning on the system, check the contents of the waste container. Empty the container if needed. After disposing of the waste content, reset the waste level by navigating from the Home screen to Maintenance > Diagnostics > Reagent Status > Reset Waste. The waste counter will be reset to 0%. If your system connects directly into a drain, the waste tracking setting will be set to Off, and it is not necessary to track the waste level. Select ► to continue. Daily Shutdown   Daily Startup The ADVIA 560 Hematology System should be shut down on a daily basis. From the Home screen, select Exit > Shutdown. The system will request a Cleaning sequence be performed. Dilute 1 mL ADVIA Hypoclean CC with 2 mL deionized water in a clean 5 mL tube. Place the tube in the Sample Rotor and select Ok.
