If you select OK, the system will initialize and process as many tests as possible with the available acid and base reagent. If you select Cancel, the system will return to the Ready state.Lift DoorHTML To replace the acid and base reagents on the ADVIA Centaur® CP, lift the compartment door on the left side of the analyzer. This exposes the acid and base reagent bottles. Note: The system should be in the Ready state before performing this procedure.Remove ReagentsHTML Notice that the acid reagent, R1, on the left has a light gray label and the base reagent, R2, on the right, has a white label. Lift the old reagent bottles out, and dispose of the remaining reagent according to your laboratory’s policy. Then, dispose of the old reagent bottle in an appropriate receptacle.Prepare New BottlesHTML Open the packaging, and obtain a new bottle of each of the reagents.  Write the current date on each.Replace ReagentsHTML Remove the caps, and place the new bottles in the compartment with the acid reagent bottle (R1) on the left and the base reagent bottle (R2) on the right.    CAUTION: Ensure that the acid and base reagent bottles are installed in the correct positions. If reversed, the chemiluminescent reaction will not occur correctly. After you have replaced the reagents in their proper locations, close the acid/base compartment door. Respond to MessageHTML Each time you open and close the acid and base compartment door, a message displays as follows: Did you replace the Acid and Base bottles? If you select Yes, the window closes and the system resets to the default value of tests. If you select No, the window closes and the number of tests available remains the same. Loading cuvettes is required when the instrument does not detect the presence of cuvettes or the loading bin is running low. Cuvettes are packaged in bags containing 200 cuvettes each.   The cuvette loading bin holds up to 400 cuvettes. Load Cuvettes Checklist Learn how to load sample cuvettes. After loading the cuvettes, select the Restart Cuvette Loader button to prime the cuvettes. The final step is to close the Supplies window by selecting the Close button. Some reagents require mixing end to end at a 90 degree angle 20 times while others require vigorous shaking. Refer to the assay instructions for use for assay-specific reagent handling procedures.2 Load the reagent pack: Load in the blinking green LED lane Barcoded end of the pack loaded first Indentation in the reagent pack should fit securely on the tab Select Next to continue. After the reagent pack has been mixed, open the reagent compartment door. You will notice that the primary reagent compartment window automatically opens on the software. The reagent pack should be loaded in the lane that has a blinking green LED. To load the pack, pull the reagent holder toward you. Place the pack on the reagent holder, inserting the barcoded end of the pack first. The bottom of the reagent pack has an indentation that fits over the tab in the reagent holder. Ensure that the indentation in the reagent pack fits correctly on the tab.3 Push reagent holder back Press down on the pack to ensure proper placement Barcode scanner reads pack Blinking LED turns to neutral is pack was scanned successfully Repeat these steps until all primary reagents are loaded. Close the reagent compartment door when loading is complete.  When the compartment door is closed, the window on the software also closes.   Select Next to continue. Push the reagent holder back and gently press down on the top of the pack to ensure it is correctly seated on the reagent holder. The barcode is scanned after the reagent holder is in place. If the pack was read successfully, the blinking green LED turns to neutral. The blinking green LED will automatically move to the next available location and you can continue to load more packs if necessary. When loading is complete, close the reagent compartment door.4 Confirm reagent details: Open Primary Reagent Compartment screen Verify reagent details If the system did not recognize a barcode: ??? will be displayed LED above lane will be blinking yellow Remove pack and reload in next available blinking green position When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.Next, open the primary reagent compartment window to confirm reagent details. If a pack was not loaded successfully, you will see question marks in the lane where the pack is located. The LED above that lane will be blinking yellow. To resolve the problem, remove the pack by pulling the reagent holder toward you. Place the pack in the next available blinking green location. Slide the ancillary tray into the ancillary reagent area, using one continuous motion. The reagent barcodes are read as the tray is inserted into the system. If the tray stops or reverses during insertion, the system may read the barcodes incorrectly. If the tray was read correctly, the blinking green LED turns to neutral.Confirm or edit reagent detailsHTML When the barcode information has been read, the Ancillary Reagent screen displays the reagent details. Confirm that the reagent details have been read on the Ancillary Reagent screen.  If an ancillary tray was not read successfully, ??? will appear in that location. Remove the tray and reload in a blinking green position. If the instrument barcode reader does not register the barcode, the pack position will not display the reagent information on the screen. Reconnect the waste tubing to the container, and reattach the two ends of the sensor.  When complete, select X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.
