Welcome to the ADVIA Centaur® XPT System Daily Setup Online Training course. In this course, the operator will learn how to perform pre-analytical procedures on the Centaur® XPT system, including how to handle the following supplies: Acid and Base Reagent Wash 1 Water Cuvettes and Sample Tips Primary and Ancillary Reagents Liquid and Solid Waste Select Next to view the course objectives. Describe how to load primary and ancillary reagents Describe how to monitor assay utilization Determine status of reagents Determine the status of supplies List the steps to load supplies and empty waste Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to: Select Next to continue. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue. Wash 1 should be replaced when one of the following occurs: Wash 1 has been on the system for one month Wash 1 has expired Wash 1 has insufficient volume Wash 1 can be replaced while samples are processing. . Cuvette Waste: The cuvette waste bin can be emptied at any time, including while the system processes samples Cuvettes are collected in a reservoir while the bin is removed from the system The reservoir holds enough cuvettes for approximately 5 minutes of operation Each time you open and close the cuvette waste area door, the system displays a prompt to confirm whether or not you emptied the waste bin: If you answer Yes to the prompt, the system restarts the supply counter at zero and assumes that the waste bin is empty If you answer No to the prompt, the system does not restart the supply counter and continues to count the number of discarded cuvettes until the system detects the maximum waste capacity Emptying Cuvette Waste Learn how to empty cuvette waste. Sample Tip Waste: The sample tip waste bin can be emptied at any time, including while the system processes samples Sample tips are collected in a reservoir while the bin is removed from the system The reservoir holds enough tips for approximately 5 minutes of operation Each time you open and close the tip waste area door, the system displays a prompt to confirm whether or not you emptied the waste bin: If you answer Yes to the prompt, the system restarts the supply counter at zero and assumes that the waste bin is empty If you answer No to the prompt, the system does not restart the supply counter and continues to count the number of discarded tips until the system detects the maximum waste capacity Emptying Sample Tip Waste Learn how to empty sample tip waste.
