ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System Cleaning Dilution Bowl / Waste Drain Nozzle Video

This video provides instructions on how to inspect, and clean if needed, the dilution bowl and waste drain nozzle. This is a required monthly maintenance task on the ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System.

inspect and clean the dilution bowl and waste drain nozzle, first ensure that there's water in a 10 milliliter tube in position 16 on the see T. Then access the software and select maintenance. Then select IE operations. Select electrode hydration. In the see T position field, enter 16 and make sure the correct tube type is entered in the container field. Select perform. The DP will aspirate water from the see T and deliver it to the dilution bowl. After the procedure completes, let the water soak for approximately 5 minutes. Then select drain dilution bowl. And then select perform the system activates pumps to draw the water out of the dilution bowl into the waste drain. Unlock and open the DPP noise reduction cover. Squeeze the release prongs. Remove the ISC cover and set it aside. Observe that there is no salt in the dilution bowl area. If there is salt remaining, repeat the prior steps to fill and then empty the dilution bowl. To clean the waste drain nozzle, use a pipette filled with D ionized water to squirt and carefully scrape any crystals that are attached to the waste drain nozzle.
