replace the lamp, 1st put the system into standby mode. Then open the top right cover. Tilt the keyboard upward. While pushing the monitor tray unlock lever to the right, pull the monitor tray open to gain access to the lamp housing. Be careful not to pull the monitor tray too far to hit the on off buttons. Locate the lamp housing. Loosen the lead wire connectors and remove the wires. Unfasten the lamp screws on the plate. And remove the halogen lamp from the housing. Locate a new halogen lamp. Do not touch the glass portion of the lamp. Touching the lamp could damage it. If the lamp is dirty, clean it using lint free towelling moistened with ethanol. Align the whole to the locating pin to install the new lamp. Install the lamp screws. Install the lead wires and fasten the knobs. Return the monitor tray to its original position. And close the top right cover. Then turn the switch in the front of the system all the way to the right to bring the system into operate mode. Wait 40 minutes for the lamp to stabilize the daily shutdown. Wash can be performed during this time. After 40 minutes, check the lamp energy and perform the cell blank measurement test. These procedures are part of routine weekly maintenance. Siemens recommends that calibration is performed and QC is run for all assays. After the lamp is replaced.
