ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System Replacing Reaction and Dilution Cuvettes Video

This video provides instructions on how to replace the reaction and dilution cuvettes. This is required maintenance every 4 months on the ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System.

20 reaction cuvette sets and six dilution Cuvette sets must be replaced once every four months. The reaction Cuvette Andalucian cuvette sets each hold different quantities of qubits, and they're not interchangeable. To replace these qubits sets, 1st put the system into standby mode. Open both top covers. To access the reaction Cuvette sets, First Tilt the keyboard upward. While pushing the monitor tray unlock lever to the right, pull the monitor tray open to gain access to the lamp housing. Be careful not to pull the monitor tray too far to hit the on off buttons. Locate the lamp housing. Do not remove the cuvet sets from in front of the lamp and be careful not to drop the cuvette set screws into other components of the instrument. Remove the 20 cubit sets from the reaction tray by first unfastening the two thumb screws on each set, being careful not to touch, scratch, or wipe the cuvette set surface is or interior. Then hold the cuvette set by the tab and lift it from the tray. Inspect the reaction bath oil. If particulate matter is found, remove it with a transfer pipette or similar device. If the contamination is more drastic, such as wash Station overflow causing large quantities of liquid to float on the oil, then discontinue this procedure and contact technical assistance. Be careful not to get reaction tray bath oil inside the cuvet. If bath oil gets inside the cuvet, allow the cuvet to dry overnight. To remove the cuvette sets located by the detector unit or under the Cuvette Wash station, rotate the reaction tray by hand until the qubits are in an accessible location. Install the new cuvet sets on the reaction tray. Fasten the set screws. Return the monitor tray to its original position. And close the top right cover. To remove the six cubits sets on the dilution tray, first unlock and open the DP and SPP noise reduction covers. Unfasten the two thumb screws on each section. Then hold the cubit section by the tab and lift it from the tray. To remove the qubits under the delusion washer or cuvette splash cover, rotate the dilution tray by hand until the qubits are clear. Install the new cube. It sets on the dilution tray. Fasten the set screws by hand. Close the SPP and DP noise reduction covers and the top left cover. Then turn the switch in the front of the system all of the way to the right to bring the system into operate mode. Select system operations. Select initialize. Perform the shutdown, wash and verify the operation to complete the procedure. Check the lamp energy and perform the cell blank measurement test. These procedures are part of routine weekly maintenance.
