ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System Replacing RPP1 and RPP2 Probes Video

This video provides instructions on how to replace the RPP1 and RPP2 probes on the ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System.

replace the RP P1 probe, 1st put the system in standby, then open the top right cover. Remove the RT T1 cover. Lift and manually rotate the probe to an accessible location. Cover the qubits, wash cups and other analyzer surfaces with lint free towels to catch any screws that may fall. Loosen, but do not remove the screws on each side of the probe arm cover. Be careful when applying pressure to the probe arm when the system is in standby mode, the probe moves easily and there's potential for crashing the probe. Remove the probe arm cover and set it aside. Open the lever and rotate the rod counterclockwise. Loosen the probe setscrew. Loosen the two small set screws on the metal capacitance plates. Remove the knurled fitting from the probe coupling by turning it counterclockwise. Snap the probe coupling out of the probe coupling Holder. Lift and remove the old probe by holding the probe coupling and flange. Discard the old probe's biohazard material. Locate an carefully insert the new probes through the guide hole until the flange is properly seated and the horozontal probe shaft is securely seated on the probe guide. Tighten the probe setscrew. Snap the probe coupling into the probe coupling Holder. Slide the knurled fitting into the probe coupling and carefully tighten it until snug. Be careful not to force the knurled fitting too far. Rotate the rod back in place. Close the lever. The RP P2 probe is the same probe as they are PP one probe. The only difference is that they are PP. Two manifold is larger. To replace the RP two probe follow the same steps that we just went through and replacing the RP one probe to complete the RP. One procedure manually rotate the probe over the probe wash Cup but not within the wash port. Then turn the switch in the front of the system all of the way to the right to bring the system into operate mode. Select System operations, then initialize. After the system has initialized, select system operations, select prime. Select prime to enter 10 or more for the number of times in all fields, select perform. And then OK. Verify that no water is leaking from the knurled fitting. Replace the probe arm cover and tighten the cover screws. Replace the RT T1 cover. Complete the procedure by closing the top cover.
