Daily Maintenance In addition to the Daily System Operation tasks; Daily Maintenance consists of performing the startup and shutdown washes.  The daily startup wash rinses the probe lines, reaction cuvettes, and dilution cuvettes.  The system aspirates deionized water for the startup wash.   Startup Wash Procedure Select System Operations > Wash > Startup Wash     Select Perform > OK   Note: The startup wash takes 27 minutes to complete The daily shutdown wash uses a detergent to clean the probe lines, reaction and dilution cuvettes and ISE components.    Shutdown Wash Procedure Ensure all reagents are available Select System Operations > Wash > Shutdown Wash Enter 2 in the Cycles field Select Perform > OK Note: The shutdown wash takes 40 minutes to complete. Tab TitleTextCheck Lamp Energy Check Lamp Energy Select Maintenance > Lamp Energy Select Start Lamp Energy Select OK to verify the RTT1 Water Position and Container Print and store data Select Close to exit the Lamp Energy Measurement window Select System Operations > Initialize Check Lamp Coolant Check Lamp Coolant Release and pull the PC tray forward Open the top right cover Push and release the middle right cover to gain access to the lamp coolant reservoir Check that the fluid level is between the Fill and Full lines If fluid is needed, remove the coolant cover and fill reservoir to the 9-cm mark with 5% lamp coolant Replace reservoir cover and close all system covers Note: A 5% solution of lamp coolant is made by mixing 50mL of Lamp Coolant Additive with 1 liter of deionized water. Measure Cuvette Blanks Measure Cuvette Blanks Select Maintenance > Cuvette Blank > Start Cuvette Blank Select Yes Note: The Cuvette Blank process is approximately 15 minutes Select View to display cuvette statistics Select Abnormal List to evaluate results There are 20 cuvette sets with 17 cuvette cells in each set. Replace cuvette sets when 4 or more cells in a set are abnormal. Select Close > Close Select Accept CB Results Wipe Condensation from CTT  If the media does not automatically start, select the play arrow to begin. Wipe Condensation from RTTs Wipe Condensation from RTT 1 & RTT2 Turn system off Open right top cover Remove RTT1 tray cover Remove the reagent tray loader; turn the white knob counterclockwise Lift loader out of refrigerated housing Using lint-free cloth, wipe the interior of the housing and clean the glass window of the reagent barcode reader Reinstall the reagent tray loader Repeat the procedure for RTT2 Perform Weekly Wash Weekly Wash Procedure The daily shutdown wash is not required on the day the weekly wash is performed. Ensure the wash solutions are in the correct locations Select System Operations > Wash > Shutdown Wash Ensure Wash Station under Settings is ON Enter 2 in the Cycles field Select Perform > OK Note: The weekly wash takes approximately 1 hour to complete. When complete, select the X in the upper-right corner to close the window and continue.
