Congratulations.  You have completed the ADVIA® Chemistry XPT System Quality Control Online Training course.  Listed below are the key points that have been presented.  Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz. Select this link to download and print a copy of the Course Review. Describe how to add and edit a quality control definition Quality Control Definition: Enter and edit QC ranges using the QC Definitions screen which is accessed by the QC Command Bar button To add a QC definition, select the Add QC Definition button To edit a QC definition, select the QC to edit, and then select the Edit/View button Note: It is recommended that you evaluate each new lot of QC material before placing it into routine use. List the steps to process QC samples Follow your laboratory specific guidelines for the frequency to process QC material. Siemens examples: 2 levels of QC material be run at least every 24 hours to verify system performance QC be done following every calibration Following a lamp change, all analytes be calibrated and QC be performed Following the changing of the RRV cuvettes, all analytes be calibrated and QC be performed Following FSE preventive maintenance or troubleshooting, all analytes must be calibrated and/ or QC be performed QC materials must be loaded in the CTT (calibration tray) in order for the controls to be recognized as QC material by the instrument. To determine the container type of tray position for calibrators and water blank: Select Samples from the Command Bar Select the Cal/QC Sample Settings tab To order QC tests: At the Command Bar, select System Operations Select Start/Restart Under the Control heading, select the Analyze checkbox Select Assay Selection Select the tests to be ordered Select OK, and then select OK again Select Yes Once the QC run has been initiated, the status of the calibration progress can be monitored on the Sample Trays screen: Select Samples from the Command Bar, and then select the Sample Trays tab Displays a diagram of the sample tray (STT) and calibration tray (CTT). Controls are always loaded in the CTT Has a color legend which is used to determine sample processing status Displays the amount of time left for processing  by selecting one of the sample positions Can search for a sample by Sample ID or Sample Position Describe how to view QC data, charts, and statistics To review QC results: Select Test Results on the Command Bar and view the Overview tab There is a Filter button that can be used to narrow down the data to just QC orders QC that falls outside of the expected values will be flagged with an icon indicating if the QC is low, high, or has an error The view QC charts and statistics: Select QC on the Command Bar and view the QC Statistics tab Access the Review tab to review current QC results Access the Analysis tab to review QC charts and statistics List the steps to print and export QC data QC Reports: Can be generated on the QC Statistics Review and Analysis windows A time filter can be applied to the data Reports can be sent to a printer or saved to a PDF file Exporting QC Files: QC files and patient median files can be exported as XML or TXT file types Select Next to continue.
