List the daily maintenance tasks and describe how to replace consumables. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Note: This training is designed for systems which include "AP2" or "APT" and the letter "C" in the serial number. If your system serial number includes "APT" but does not include the letter "C", please select the Aptio Automation (Siemens) training area.

Open the door under the labeling area Lift up the tube label area Press the white button then the black release lever to open the print head Remove the black plastic take up spool clip Pull the label roll latch spring and move away from the roll Remove the old roll and load new one Feed the new roll and secure with the black clip Check label alignment and adjust, if needed Close print head and lower tube label area Advance the label tape and print a test label Check label quality Close all doors and bring On-line Sealer – Replace the foil coil Bring Off-line Home the sealing head, wait for head to cool down Remove empty coil and replace Thread the strip under the Locker, Puller and Cutter Reset the reel count to 16000 or 19000 depending on coil Sealer cuts 10 pieces of foil. Ensure the Sealer Head is in the Home position and not over the Cutter. Home the sealing headHTML In the system software, select Diagnostics – Sealing Head > Home. Check the Heater temperature. Wait until this value, is 55°C/131°F or less before continuing this procedure. It will take approximately 30 minutes for the value to reach 55°C/131°F. Select Diagnostics - Sealer Loader > Locker > Up.   Replace the sealer coilHTML   Select the play arrow to begin. Reset the reel counterHTML Select Status > Reel Count to reset the reel counter to 16,000 or 19,000 seals, depending on the number of seals present in the new coil. The biohazard bag must fit snugly in the waste container and be fully opened to allow the tips to drop freely into the container. Re-insert the clips to fix the tip bag at the waste container. Replace waste containerHTML   Ensure the tips waste container has been out of the system for more than 10 seconds. In the Status screen select Waste Count and confirm pop-up. Select Status > Off-line.  Remove tips container lidHTML   Remove the tips container lid.  Remove the bottom lid from the tips boxHTML   Remove the bottom lid from under the tips box.  Insert box into tips containerHTML   Keeping a hand under the tips box to avoid tips dropping, insert the tips box in the tips container.  Remove paper stripsHTML   Pull the paper flaps on the top of the tips box away from the box. Pull one end of the flap until both flaps are removed from the box. Remove tip boxHTML    Hold the handles and slowly lift the tips box out of the tips container.  Replace tips container lidHTML  Replace the tips container lid. Reset tip box inventoryHTML   Select Diagnostics- Tips. Select Box Filled. Select Tip Box. Select Tip Box Filled. Fill sample tubes containerHTML   Remove the lid from the secondary sample tubes container and fill it with secondary sample tubes to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill the container.  Replace the tube container lidHTML   Replace the lid. Ensure that it is properly placed and that the lid presence sensors are engaged.  Reset the inventory and bring On-lineHTML In the system software, select Diagnostics – Tube Hopper & Pinchroller.  Select Tube Box > Tube Box Filled. Bring the module On-line. Replacing the Label Roll Learn how to replace the label roll on the Aliquoter Module. Replace the label rollHTML   Select the play arrow to begin. Install a tubeHTML To print a test label, first place a secondary tube in the labeling area. The tube is placed between the rollers with the open end closest to the operator and the bottom on the secondary tubes waste side. Print a test labelHTML   Select Diagnostics – Labelling & BCR > Print Label. Confirm Labeling Test. Verify the test labelHTML   Verify that the label is correctly positioned and that the printed data (barcode, human readable, and four printed rows) is legible.    Close the printer wingHTML   Close the printer wing (door). Bring module On-lineHTML  Select Status > On-line. Consumable replacement on Recapper Module as needed maintenance: Replace caps   Supplies needed: Secondary sample tube caps Learn to reload caps Learn how to load caps in the Recapper Module. Open the Recapper Module caps container door located in the module lower part by pulling it outwards. Load capsHTML Load caps in the cap container. Press flap and close doorHTML Close the door by pressing the flap at the left side and pushing the door. Bring module On-lineHTML Ensure that the module is not in an error condition. Bring the module On-line.   Message area in the Overview screen displays warnings that maintenance is scheduled to be done.
