Aptio® Automation Discard Used Tubes

If you have a storage module, you will need to discard the used sample tube container. Follow your laboratory's policy for discarding biohazard waste. There is an automatic counter that is reset when the waste container is removed, although it is recommended that the waste container be replaced daily, a warning appears on the system to alert you if you need to replace it more frequently. Remove the waste container from the storage module. In this video we are using a biohazard box containing two biohazard bags. Your laboratory's container may be different. Once the container is pulled away, it must remain out of position for at least 10 seconds, so the counter automatically resets to 0. Seal the waste container and dispose of it according to your laboratory's policy. Replace the waste container with a new one. Make sure to place the new container firmly against the storage module and switch to allow normal operation of tube disposal. Ensure the module is not in an error condition. Then select online to resume module operation.
