Aptio® Automation Input/Output Module Maintenance Job Aid

This job aid provides instructions on how to perform weekly and monthly maintenance on the Input/Output Module on Aptio® Automation. 
 
Note: This job aid is designed for systems which include "AP2" or "APT" and the letter "C" in the serial number. If your system serial number includes "APT" but does not include the letter "C", please select the Aptio Automation (Siemens) training area. 

Input/Output Module Maintenance Aptio® Automation Weekly Maintenance Refer to the Aptio Automation Operations Manual when performing the following procedures. Clean the Worktable Supplies needed: lint-free cloth, 0.1 % sodium hypochlorite solution 1. Bring Input/Output Module Off-line: a. Select Overview b. Select Input/Output c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line, select Do Not Flush and confirm 2. Remove all racks from the lanes in the Input/Output Module: a. Press each LED bar button to unlock all racks b. Grasp the handle and slide the rack out of its lane c. Ensure all the lanes are completely free of racks 43 Ooo! Open the left side door under the IOM worktable. Turn the red knob clockwise to unlock the cover 4. Move the monitor to the left to allow the cover to open without interference 5. Manually slide the Input/Output Module robot to the side of the Input/Output Module to allow easy access to clean the lanes. Clean the lanes and worktable with a lint-free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution 7. Turn the red knob counter-clockwise to lock the cover 9. Reset the Input/Output Module robot: a. Select Overview b. Select Input/Output c. Select Diagnostics ‐ Robot d. Select Home e. Select With Gripper Init. f. Bring the Input/Output Module Off-line: a. Select Overview b. Select Input/Output c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line, select Do Not Flush and confirm 2. Remove all racks from the lanes in the Input/Output Module: a. Press each LED bar button to unlock all racks b. Grasp the handle and slide the rack out of its lane c. Ensure all the lanes are completely free of racks 3. If the Input/Output Module Robot Gripper is closed, perform the following procedure to open it: a. Select Input/Output Module button in the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Robot c. Select Tube Gripper d. Slide the Input/Output Module Robot to the front of the Input/Output Module to allow easy access to the gripper 7. Clean the gripper inside and outside with a lint-free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution. Do not allow the cleaning solution to touch any wires, sensors, or other mechanisms. Clean only the inside and outside of the gripper jaws 8. Select On‐line and confirm All Input/Output Module components will be initialized. Supplies needed: Computer air filter 1. Open the Input/Output Module left door 2. Locate the computer and remove the air filter cover 3. Remove the air filter and replace with a new one If a new filter is not available, the dirty air filter may be cleaned with tap water and allowed to air dry for reuse. The air filter must be completely dry when it is reinstalled. ....... ......... POWER HDD RESET E 4. Reinstall the cover 5. Supplies needed: lint-free cloth 1. Open the Input/Output Module left door 2. Locate the UPS 3. Remove any dust from the UPS Module and air inlets using a lint-free cloth E.T.N 9130 D9B ... 4. Bring the Input/Output Off-line: a. Select Overview b. Select Input/Output c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line e. Select Do Not Flush and confirm 2. Remove all racks from the lanes in the Input/Output Module: a. Press each LED bar button to unlock all racks b. Grasp the handle and slide the rack out of its lane c. Ensure all the lanes are completely free of racks 3. Clean all racks with a lint-free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution. Important: only remove dust from the barcode on the rack with a dry lint-free cloth. Do not use bleach, soapy water or other solutions on the barcode 4. Inspect the sample racks. Ensure the silicone tabs are not worn or broken. If tabs are worn or broken, discontinue use of the rack DATARIO 6.
