Aptio® Automation Rack Input Module Maintenance Job Aid

This job aid provides instructions on how to perform weekly and monthly maintenance on the Rack Input Module on Aptio® Automation. 
 
Note: This job aid is designed for systems which include "AP2" or "APT" and the letter "C" in the serial number. If your system serial number includes "APT" but does not include the letter "C", please select the Aptio Automation (Siemens) training area.

Rack Input Module Maintenance Aptio® Automation Weekly Maintenance Refer to the Aptio Automation Operations Manual when performing the following procedures. Clean the Worktable Supplies needed: lint‐free cloth, 0.1 % sodium hypochlorite solution, hex tool 1. Bring the Rack Input Module Off‐line: a. Select Overview b. Select Rack Input c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line, select Do Not Flush 2. Remove all racks from the worktable. If it is not possible to manually remove the racks, perform the following procedure to unlock the racks: a. Select Rack Input in the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Rack Management c. Carefully lift the cover and remove. Manually slide the robot to the side of the Rack Input Module to allow easy access to clean the worktable 5. Clean the lanes with a lint‐free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution 6. Replace the cover and tighten the screws using the hex tool 7. Reset the Rack Input Module robot: a. Select Rack Input from the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Robot c. Select Initialize d. Bring the Rack Input Module Off‐line: a. Select Overview button b. Select Rack Input c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line e. Select Do Not Flush 2. Remove all racks from the worktable. If it is not possible to manually remove the racks, perform the following procedure to unlock the racks: a. Select Rack Input in the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Rack Management c. Select Release Rack until all the racks have been removed 3. If the Rack Input robot gripper is closed, perform the following procedure to open it: a. Select Rack Input in the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Robot c. Select Tube Gripper d. Using the hex tool, loosen the screws securing the cover - 5. Carefully, lift the cover to remove. Clean the gripper inside and outside with a lint‐free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution Do not allow the cleaning solution to touch any wires, sensors, or other mechanisms. Clean only the inside and outside of the gripper jaws 7. Replace the cover and tighten the screws using the hex tool 8. Reset the Rack Input Module robot: a. Select Rack Input from the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Robot c. Select Initialize d. Bring the Rack Input Module Off‐line: a. Select Overview button b. Select Rack Input c. Select Status d. Select Off‐line e. Select Do Not Flush 2. Remove all racks from the worktable. If it is not possible to manually remove the racks, perform the following procedure to unlock the racks: a. Select Rack Input in the Overview screen b. Select Diagnostics ‐ Rack Management c. Select Release Rack until all the racks have been removed 3. Clean all racks with a lint‐free cloth moistened with 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution. Important: only remove dust from the barcode on the rack with a dry lint‐free cloth. Do not use bleach, soapy water or other solutions on the barcode 4. Inspect the sample racks. Ensure the silicone tabs are not worn or broken. If tabs are worn or broken, discontinue use of the rack DATARIO 6.
