Welcome to the ARTIS icono biplane: System Overview Online Training. This module will introduce you to the components in the exam room. In this training you will learn about: The hardware components in the exam room Operation of the control modules The exam room display and Onscreen menu Touchscreen operation Please note: This online training module should not be seen as a replacement to onsite application training. The information in this module supplements the training provided by your Siemens Healthineers Applications Specialist. The ARTIS icono biplane system is comprised of two stands and C-arms: a floor stand and a lateral plane. Each plane is comprised of the following components: C-arm Detector X-ray tube and Collimator The stands and C-arms can be moved manually with the joysticks on the Pilot control module (PCM) or via pre-programmed system positions using the touchscreen. Learn how to remove and insert the grid Learn how to remove and insert the grid Checklist TitleChecklist TypeChecklist ContentWhen to remove the grid?HTML The scatter grid is intended to filter scatter that is created by the patient and other objects, out of the image to improve image quality. As in pediatrics the dose awareness is high and the scatter, created by small patients is low, the grid can be removed. To ensure optimal image quality, the grid should remain inserted for all other cases. C-arm in AP positionHTML To minimize the risk of the grid falling, the C-arm should be in the anterior-posterior (AP) position when removing or inserting the grid. Please note: Handle the grid with special care. If the grid is dropped or not handled properly, the grid could be damaged. Grid damage cannot always be seen externally. Press the buttonHTML Press the button on the front of the FD, the grid slides out of its holder. Pull the grid outHTML Pull the grid out to the rear. Once the grid is removed, place the grid in a safe place. Insert the gridHTML Insert the grid from the back. When inserting the grid, pay attention to correct orientation. The arrows on the grid must point toward the detector and the label on the grid must point toward the patient. Mechanical lockHTML Pay attention to correct locking: an audible engagement sound should be heard. Your ARTIS icono biplane system is installed with a patient table and a tabletop tailored for your examination needs. Before positioning the patient on the table, pay attention to the table weight limit. You will find a sticker indicating the weight limit on your table. Rotate with the TCM On the Table Control Module (TCM): Press the table unlocking key. When the function is active the LED will appear blue Rotate the table while pressing on the knob on the TCM To lock the tabletop, press on the table unlocking key again ARTIS Multi-tilt table only. Rotate with the foot pedal Press the pedal to release the table Rotate the table. With the pedal pressed the table will not lock into position. Release the pedal and the table will lock when in an increment When the table is engaged in a lock an audible 'click' will be heard Please note: In the case of a power outage, the pedal is the only method to rotate the table. Your system may be installed with either the universal collimator control module or the cardiac collimator control module. The components of the CCM include: One or two joysticks for filter placement One joystick for collimator placement A key to reset the collimation and filters and A key to toggle between the wedge and finger filter (universal collimator) You can perform collimation on the live fluoroscopy image or with CAREprofile on the last image hold (LIH). To activate CAREprofile, activate the filter or collimation joystick when fluoroscopy is not active. Swipe from right to left on the touchscreen or press the keys on the Pilot control module. System positions move the system into a predefined position for a clinical procedure. The positions of the stand/C-arm and table will be restored in absolute room coordinates. Anatomical Positions move the system to create the same image view, for example LAO/RAO cranial/caudal views. Learn about the hand switch Learn about the hand switch The hand switch has two buttons: The yellow Acquisition button for releasing acquisition series and single acquisitions The Multifunctional button The Multifunctional button has different functions depending on the selected protocol: Protocol with variable frame rate: to switch from one phase to the next phase DR-DYNAVISION, DYNAVISION or 3D protocol: to start the next phase Please note: It is not possible to release fluoroscopy with the hand switch. Images and information are divided into segments, for example: Live image Ref1 and Ref2 3D sharing External video sources Important system messages, examination data and system position information are arranged in the Info area. Learn how to change the exam room display layout Learn how to change the exam room display layout Tab TitleTextOpen the layout gallery To open the Layout Gallery, press on the key on the Pilot control module. The Layout Gallery opens directly on the exam room display. Please note: It is also possible to open the Layout Gallery from the Onscreen menu. Select the layout The Layout Gallery displays the available layouts on the exam room display. Deflect the jog wheel to select the desired layout Press OK on the jog wheel The layout will update immediately Change the layout from the touchscreenIt is also possible to change the layout from the touchscreen. Select Display and then Layout on the touchscreen The layouts appear as a list of names Select the desired layout To change the input source, select Source from the touchscreen. Table control module: With the Table control module (TCM), you control table movements. With the table joystick/panning knob, you can adjust the table position. Collimator control module: Use the Collimator control module (CCM) to adjust the collimator and filter positions. Your system is installed with either the universal collimator control module or with the cardiac collimator control module. The universal collimator control module has two filters: the wedge and finger filter. The cardiac collimator control module contains the wedge filter only. The components of the CCM include: One or two joysticks for filter placements One joystick for collimator placement A key to reset the collimation and filters and A key to toggle between the wedge and finger filter (universal collimator) You can perform collimation on the live fluoroscopy image or with care profile on the last image hold (LIH). Programmed Positions: There are different types of programmed positions: System Positions are the basic positions Anatomical Positions are customized positions to demonstrate a particular image view You can store your most frequently used positions as Direct Positions Store Direct Positions: There are three keys surrounding the left joystick on the Pilot control module for storing direct positions: direct position 1, 2 and 3. To store a direct position, move the C-arm system to the desired position. Press the store key at the front of the left joystick. The LEDs on the direct position keys flash. Select the key on which you would like to store the direct position: position 1, 2 or 3. To move the system to the direct position, press the direct position key 1, 2 or 3. Press down on the joystick and deflect the joystick away from you. It is also possible to move the system to the direct position by pressing down and holding the direct position key. Touchscreen: Selected functions can be operated by using the touchscreen of the Pilot control module. It can be operated similarly to a mobile phone display. The touchscreen is arranged in the main menu and sub menu pages. Exam room display: On the exam room display images and information are divided into segments, for example: Live image Ref1 and Ref2 3D sharing External video sources Important system messages, examination data and system position information are arranged in the Info area. Onscreen menu: The Onscreen menu allows you to access many functions of the imaging system from the exam room. To open the Onscreen menu, press on the key on the Pilot Control Module (PCM). The Onscreen menu opens on the exam room display. The menu items available depend on the licenses available on your system and your system configuration. You use the jog wheel to scroll through menu items on the Onscreen menu. X-ray release: Fluoroscopy and acquisition are released with the footswitch. Acquisition can also be released with the handswitch.
