ArtPix Ortho Setup and Stitching Video

This video will guide the User through the steps of acquiring and stitching ortho images using the ArtPix Ortho software.

The stitching function is an optional feature that enables users to combine up to five images with partial overlap to create a single image. Stitching can be performed with the detector in crosswise or landscape, or lengthwise. Portrait orientations. Like other kinds of exposures, the Artpix software will suggest technical factors, but the user must ensure the correct factors are set on their systems generator settings. During the stitching process, the images are aligned relative to each other to obtain the most accurate stitched image as possible. In order to obtain the highest accuracy, it is important to ensure the patient is as close to the detector as possible. Registration mode. Patient registration when performing a patient study requiring stitching of Bony anatomy, move the cursor over and click on the desired exam in registration mode. Note Exams designated for stitching will have multiple anatomical parts listed in the exam column. Studymode first time. Stitching parameters once open, select the appropriate exam from the available views. Stitching exams will be grouped with a red box. The stitching parameters window will automatically open, allowing the technologist to define image overlap patient to detector distance and source to tube distance. The technologist should ensure the measurements are as accurate as possible. Select confirm to move to the next phase making exposures. Ensure the appropriate exposure parameters are set on the system generator and position the patient tube and detector in the first position and make the first exposure. The system will now display the first image, choose, reject to repeat, or accept to save the image and move on to the next part of the patient anatomy. Note, do not apply any collimation to the vertical top and bottom axis of the system. Keep the collimation fully open to the full vertical size of the detector. Once an image is accepted, the system will automatically move to the next view in the stitching exam. In the room, move down the detector and tube allowing for the overlap of the collimation field that was set in the stitching parameters window previously. Once again, ensure the correct exposures are set on the system generator and make an exposure. Reject and repeat the new image or accept and move to the next anatomical area. Adjust, shattering and reprocess the image if necessary. If needed, select reject and repeat the exposure or select except to move to the next anatomical area. If this is the last image of the series, select the dropdown next to the accept button and select stitch. Then press on the stitch button. The system will now begin stitching the series, defaulting to the auto stitch method. Note the system will use the narrowest shuttering and applied to all images during the stitching process. Therefore, ensure the user does not apply shuddering. That may clip anatomic areas of other individual images. Stitching software, once the software finishes the stitching process, you will see a fully stitched image encompassing all of the images of the series. Image processing changes can be made utilizing the slide bars for brightness, contrast, shadows, highlights and mid tone. Select reset to go back to the original parameters. Select except to save the fully stitched image as displayed or close to end the stitching process without saving. If adjustments to the stitch lines are necessary, the user can switch to the semi automatic or manual stitching modes. In the semi automatic mode the user aligns any two sequential images of a stitching series based on manually adjusted reference points, seen here as red circles utilizing the zoom feature. If needed, drag the reference points to the same prominent feature of the anatomy on each image. This will define a new point of overlap, ensuring proper anatomical alignment of the final stitched image. On the left side of the screen, select additional pairs of images to adjust when all adjustments are complete, select the stitch or restart button to begin the re stitching process. For manual mode adjustments, select manual from the dropdown options. Again, changes here are applied to pairs of images from the original exam series selected from the left side of the screen. Manual shifting is available in four directions using the arrows on the right side of the screen. The amount of movement for each Press of the arrow is determined by the step slider. 10 will be larger adjustments while one will allow for finer smaller movements once step size is determined, use the arrows to shift the placement of the bottom image to align better to the top image. Continue to make other adjustments to subsequent image pairs by selecting them on the left side of the screen. Select stitch or restart to apply the new positions. The reset button in the middle of the arrows will restore back to the original alignment. Once back on the main stitching screen, select except to save changes and go back to study mode. Studymode second time sending images. Once back in study mode, the user can see individual exposures as well as the fully stitched image as thumbnails across the bottom of the screen. Press the Select all button. From here the user can choose to save any new changes. Restart the stitching software or send the selected images to packs. Select the desired function and press the button to begin the process. If sending images, the user can select alternative packs nodes if configured. The user can now close or suspend the study to begin other patient exams.
