Turn the handheld scanner over so that the keyboard is facing down and the handle is pointing up 3. Pull up and back on the strap to lift the rear end of the cover 5. Referring to the diagram on the top of the battery, grasp the battery near the base of the handle and pull the battery back and upwards while pulling up the top of the battery 7. Following the diagram on the new battery, insert the flat end of the battery into the side of the compartment opposite the handle. Press the other end of the battery down until it snaps firmly into place 9.
