Welcome Welcome to the Atellica Solution, Remote Software Update Installation video. This interactive video will prepare you for performing your remote software update installation. Before Installing Your New Software Update… An alert will be posted in the System > Status screen when there is a new software version ready to be installed on your system. Prior to installing your new software, there are a few things that should be done to ensure a successful update. Select the numbered steps below to learn more. 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 4 4 Pre Installation Base Layer: When there is a new software version available for your system, an alert will be posted in the status window. Before you perform your update, select each number in the checklist below to prepare. Item 1 Layer: Be aware that remote software updates are reliant on Laboratory Communication Manager (LCM) or Atellica Connectivity Manager (ACM) and Smart Remote Services (SRS) connections. Note that, this feature is only available if the lab has a contract with the technical support provider, and only the technical service provider can enable this feature. There is a Remote Service Button on the status bar. In order for the software to download, ensure this button is in the connected and not in an error or disabled state. For more information on Remote Services, refer to online help. Item 2 Layer: Once you receive the new software version alert, the Release Notes for the new software version will be available. It is recommended to review the Release Notes prior to installing the new software. The software installation should not be started unless all changes are agreed upon, and the pre installation steps in the release notes have been completed. Select the launch button to view the steps for downloading the release notes. Item 3 Layer: There may be CH Assay Test Definition changes included in the software update. There will not be an IM TDef document with the software update, since the IM Test Definitions are updated every time the master curve test definition barcode is scanned in for a new IM reagent lot. To find out if this is applicable to your version, check if the CH TDef enhancements document is available in document library. Item 4 Layer: It is recommended to review the software version updates training content in PEPconnect prior to downloading the new software. Navigate to Software Version Updates Training Open PEPconnect in the browser, and login Click the Explore icon in the top left corner Choose the Laboratory Diagnostics icon Select the Integrated Systems tab at the top of the page Select Atellica Solution Select the System Updates tab at the top of the page, or scroll down until you see the System Updates topic Choose the card with the appropriate software version, then click Launch Download the CH TDef Enhancements Document From a browser, such as Internet Explorer, enter www.siemens.com/eIFU Register if entering site for the first time or Login if already registered If Laboratory Diagnostics Document Library was selected during registration, this area displays after logging in. If not, select that service To filter documents by language, ensure preference is selected In Products, select Atellica Solution > Atellica CH Analyzer Search for TDef in the search bar Download the CH Test Definitions Enhancements document for the appropriate software version if applicable Download the Release Notes From a browser, such as Internet Explorer, enter www.siemens.com/eIFU Register if entering site for the first time or Login if already registered If Laboratory Diagnostics Document Library was selected during registration, this area displays after logging in. If not, select that service To filter documents by language, ensure preference is selected In Products, select Atellica Solution > Atellica Platform In Document types, select Instrument and Software Information > Release Notes Select appropriate software version and download or save Complete Software Version Training on PEPconnect 4 Launch It is recommended to review the Software Version Updates training content in PEPconnect prior to downloading the new software. This training material is in support of the Release Notes, and as a supplement to the Operator's Guide, Quick Guide, and online help. Check for CH Assay Test Definition Changes 3 CH Assay Test Definition changes may be included in the software update. In Document Library, check if a CH TDef Enhancements document is available for the software version. Not all software updates will require a change in CH Assay Test Definitions. Launch An alert will be posted in the System > Status screen when there is a new software version ready to be installed. Once you receive the alert, the Release Notes for the new software version will be available. It is recommended to review the Release Notes prior to installing the new software. Download the Release Notes 2 Launch Check your Remote Service Connection 1 Enabled/Connected Error Disabled Installing New Software and Online Help Select the start video button below to watch the steps to install a new software update. Start Video Installation Now that you have completed the steps to prepare for your new software update, select the button on the screen to learn how to perform the installation. After Completing Your Software Installation Refer to the Release Notes for any post-installation instructions that should be performed after the software is successfully installed. If the software does not successfully install, call the Service Support Center. You are now ready to use your new software! Post Installation After you have completed your software installation, and restarted the system, the Siemens Service Support center will be notified of a successful installation of the software update. Refer to your release notes for any instructions that should be performed post installation. For example, configuration settings for a new feature. If your software was not successfully installed, call the Siemens Service Support Center for help. Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only! Select system, then status, and ensure that they say off. If they do not say off, select each individual analyzer, and click the stop button. Untitled Slide Next, on the command bar, select maintenance, then software updates, then select install on the right of the screen. Untitled Slide Once you are in the install manager, select the appropriate software update from the available packages menu on the left. Select Install at the bottom of the screen. Untitled Slide Select OK in the popup screen. The update will run. Note that, there may be additional steps after you run the update. Refer to the release notes to see the additional steps, if applicable. Untitled Slide A green checkmark next to the software update filename, indicates that the install is complete. Once complete, you will need to restart the system. In order to restart, you will have to remain in the install manager window, and select the restart button at the bottom of the screen. If you do not select restart from the install manager window, you may run into issues with your update. Select OK.
