Cleaning and Disinfection Job Aid Cios Alpha (VA20), Cios Connect, Cios Fit, Cios Fusion, Cios Select, Cios Select FD Before cleaning or disinfecting a Cios system, ensure that the system is disconnected from the power supply and switched off. Cleaning the System Parts • Clean the system parts with a damp cloth. • For moistening, use water or a lukewarm diluted aqueous solution, consisting of water and a household cleaning agent. • Cleaning agents and disinfectants containing chlorine derivatives can discolor cables but will not negatively impact system functions. • Never immerse system parts (except the footswitch) in liquid or autoclave system parts. Cleaning the Screen Surfaces/TFT Displays The screen surfaces can be cleaned at any time. • Clean the monitor screen with a cotton cloth dampened with water. • Immediately dry off the monitor screen with a soft cotton cloth. • Wipe off contrast agent spots as soon as possible. Disinfection • For the disinfection of surfaces, we recommend liquid solutions of common surface disinfectants based on aldehyde and/or amphoteric surfactants (e.g. Tensodur 103, Kohrsolin, Cidex). • Certain substituted phenol-based or chlorine-splitting disinfectants can corrode materials and are therefore not recommended. • Only use the recommended cleaning agents and disinfectants. • Do not allow any cleaning fluids to enter the openings of the system (e.g. air openings, gap between covers). • Observe the operator manual of the disinfectant. • Some substances contained in disinfectants are known to be hazardous to health. The concentration of such substances in the air must not exceed the legally defined limit. We recommend that you follow the manufacturers’ instruction for use for these products (active ingredient class).
