The Connect System also provides the capability to communicate with remote Hospital and Laboratory Information Systems and interface with Electronic Medical Records. Other features include: Barcode scanner for automatic data entry QC Lockout and QC reminders Operator Management and Security Password Protection Data Management Customized Urine Colors Recall Results transmitted to alternate computers Configuration settings copied to multiple analyzers Identify steps to unpack the connector platform Unpack the Connect System and inventory the parts to confirm all components have been received. If you are installing the analyzer at the same time as the Connect System, refer to the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer Setup online module for additional information. Document the serial number and date of installation of your CLINITEK Status® Connect Platform. The serial number is located on the bottom of the Connector. Identify steps to install the connector platform and optional bar code scanner If upgrading an analyzer to the Connect Platform, begin by removing the test table. Turn the analyzer off, unplug it from the main power supply and remove all cables and cords. Slide the adhesive clips into the slots on the connector, aligning them vertically with the far left and far right sides of the slots. Remove the adhesive backing then place the analyzer on top of the connector. Press firmly to secure the clips. Note: Use caution whenever moving the connect system as the two units are not securely attached and could separate. Connect the white plug of the 3” DC power cable to the connector and the black plug to the analyzer. Next, connect the system to the network by inserting an optional wireless card into the rear USB port or inserting the supplied Ethernet network cable into the RJ45 port and a LAN socket. Finally, connect the 6” RS-232 cable to the analyzer and connector. Plug the AC power cord into the power supply adaptor and plug the adaptor into the connector. Next, plug the AC power cord into an AC electrical wall outlet.  Connect the optional bar code scanner to the serial RS232 port located on the side of the connector. Turn the analyzer on and note the Model Name, Software Version, and Copyright Information that appears on the screen.
