Reinsert the test table and insert into the analyzer after cleaning is completed.Changing batteriesHTML The battery icon appears in the upper-right corner of the title bar when the analyzer is being powered by batteries. The number of segments displayed represents the amount of power remaining in the batteries. The analyzer is designed to process approximately 100 tests from a set of batteries. The Power Save feature is always activated when the instrument is powered by batteries. If the instrument is not used in 5 minutes when battery-powered, it will automatically power down. With the test table and insert removed, place the analyzer on one side. Remove the battery cover by pressing down on the tab and pulling out. Remove the current batteries and replace with a new set of 6 AA-size batteries. Replace the battery cover and turn the instrument back onto its base. In this course, you have learned how to: Clean the instrument Daily, keep the outside of the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer clean and free of dust. Clean the test table and insert Use a cotton-tipped swab moistened with water to routinely clean the test table and insert. Use care not to touch the white calibration bar. Use personal protective equipment. Follow the on-site procedure of your facility on frequency of cleaning the test table and insert. Disinfect the test table and insert Disinfecting the test table and insert is necessary if the analyzer will be transported to another location or if moved to another site which involves going through non-biohazard areas. Use deionized water and 5% sodium hypochlorite as a disinfecting solution. Soak the test table and insert in cleaning solution for a minimum of 2 minutes and maximum of 10 minutes. Ensure that cleaning solution does not come in contact with the white calibration bar. Clean the calibration bar Regularly check the white calibration bar on the test table, and always check it after a strip jam. If the white calibration bar is dirty or discolored, gently wipe and clean it with a new cotton-tipped swab or lint-free cloth moistened with distilled water. Use care not to scratch the white calibration bar. Solvents of any kind must not be used to clean the bar. Change the Batteries The battery power icon appears in the upper-right corner of the title bar when the analyzer is being powered by batteries.
