CLINITEK Status® Portfolio for Point of Care Instrument Overview Online Training

Locate major system components and determine their function to provide the operator the foundation to successfully setup and operate the analyzer.

Congratulations. You have completed the Instrument Overview module. Once you have reviewed the content on this page, you may proceed to the assessment portion of the course. In this course, you have learned how to: Identify key features of the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer Easy operation - The touch screen displays instructions and prompts you through operation. Self calibration - No operator calibration is necessary. The instrument performs a “self-test” and calibration each time it is turned on as well as each time a test is run. Data storage - The analyzer stores up to 950 patient results and 700 Operator IDs in instrument memory. Convenience - Plug the analyzer into an electrical outlet for use on the bench top. The analyzer also can be powered by batteries and moved from one testing site to another. Standardization - Automatic result interpretation standardizes the timing and test result color interpretation. Quality checks - Strip integrity-humidity checks automatically alert the operator if a test strip with the leukocyte pad is degraded.  Interference notes automatically alert the operator if sample interferences could impact test results. Note: This feature is currently available only outside of U.S. and dependent upon strip type. Automatic test strip ID - Auto Strip Identification eliminates the need for the operator to select a strip configuration. Security - ID Entry/Lockout allows the system to be enabled to accept only authorized operators.   Identify key components of the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer The touch screen guides you through operation of the analyzer and displays options for response. Operators also can view results on the touch screen. Press the on/off button to turn the instrument on or off. The analyzer performs an automatic system diagnostics test each time it is tuned on. Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics reagent test strips provide semi-quantitative urinalysis results for a broad menu of tests. The Clinitest®immunoassay cassette provides qualitative results for hCG pregnancy tests. The reference and control lines always form, whereas the test line forms only if hCG is present in the sample. The two-sided test table insert adapts to hold either a urinalysis test strip or cassette. The test table positions the test strip or cassettein the analyzer’s “read area” for testing. The white calibration bar provides NIST traceable calibration. The instrument calibrates each time it is turned on as well as each time a test is run. The on-board printer eliminates the need for manual recording.  Select Next to continue.     The CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer is a portable instrument: Suited for physician offices, clinics and point-of care sites Reads urinalysis test strips to assess metabolic states and detect urinary tract infections and other disorders Uses Clinitest® immunoassay cassettes to perform qualitative hCG pregnancy tests Connects to the CLINITEK Status® Connector to create the CLINITEK Status® Connect System for connectivity, barcode reading, and advanced QC management Key Features of the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer The CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer includes features that provide ease of operation, auto-checks and standardization of testing process.
