In this course, you have learned how to: Identify the steps to unpack and physically set up the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer Unpack the CLINITEK Status® + Analyzer Inventory the parts Identify the location of the serial number Load paper Turn the instrument on Use the Start-Up Wizard to select basic instrument settings When the CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer is turned on for the first time, the system performs an automatic diagnostics check. The Start-Up Wizard directs you through a quick procedure to set up basic functions to operate the instrument. These settings can be changed to suit workplace needs and preferences. Settings include: Language Date and time You can set a standard U.S., European, or Japanese date format. You also can set a 12-hour or 24-hour military time format. Preferred test sequence Select Quick Test or Full Test mode. Type of urinalysis strip Results format Results format settings determine the way test results are displayed and printed. Conventional units are the standard format used in the U.S.  SI units are international units. For Chinese, SI is the only available option. Nordic units are available only in English and Swedish. The Plus System uses “+” symbols instead of clinical units, such as mg/dL or mmol/L. Depending on the model, there also may be a Warranty Registration Card, an Unpacking/Setup Guide, and/or a Quick Reference Guide. Tip: Be sure to reference your instrument’s serial number when contacting Siemens for technical assistance. The CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer serial number is located inside the printer cover.
