Performing a Full Urinalysis Strip Test Video

This video provides instructions on how to properly run a full urinalysis strip test on your CLINITEK Status®+ Analyzer, including entering operator and/or patient informaton.

A full test provides the option to enter an operator name, patient name and or patient ID prior to inserting a test. Strip. Operator ID can be entered manually using the touchscreen or via optional barcode reader. If using the clinic tech Status Connect system to begin have the test strip urine sample and a paper towel ready. From the main select screen touch strip test to access the operator information screen. If the same operator is accessing the analyzer, you may see a last operator button. If a different operator is using the analyzer, the enter new operator option is used. For this demonstration, will use the new operator option on the enter Operator name screen. Use the keyboard to enter up to 13 characters. If using the clinic tech Status Connect system, an optional barcode reader can be used to enter operator ID. Touch enter to accept the change and advance to the next screen. The Patient information screen contains two options. Recall patient an enter new patient. For a new patient, touch the enter new patient button. On the enter patient name screen, use the keyboard to enter up to 20 characters. Touch enter to accept the entry and proceed to the patient ID screen. Use the keyboard to enter up to 13 characters for the patient identification. In this example, the patient has a numeric identifier touch the 123 key and enter the ID number. If using the clinic tech Status Connect system, use the barcode reader to enter patient ID. Touch enter to accept the entry and advanced to the Prepare test screen and touch start. Dip the reagent strip into the sample. Drag the edge against the side of the container, block the strip and place into the test table. While the instrument is calibrating the select appearance, screen displays a request for information on the color of the sample. In this example, will select yellow an clear. Once analysis is completed, the test strip is ejected and the results can be viewed on screen or on a printout. The color and clarity information will be included on the printout. On the result screen, press the more button to view the additional time, date, operator, and patient information that now is available. Press back to return to the main result screen. Touch done to complete the test and return to main select screen. Remove the used test strip. Dispose of the test strip and report results according to the procedures specified at your facility.
