The first time the analyzer is turned on, the startup wizard will lead you through a quick procedure to select settings for the operation of the instrument. These preferences can be changed to meet the requirements of your workplace. To begin, power up the analyzer by pressing the on off button located on the front of the instrument. A system diagnostic test will run automatically each time the unit is turned off. The first requirement is to select the language that will be used, touch the up and down arrows to choose the language, then press select. Press next to continue with the setup. The date and time are recorded with each test result. To set the format press choose format. The date can be set to appear in standard US, European or Japanese format. You also can set the time format to either 12 hour or 24 hour time. Once the selections have been entered, press done. If the specific date or time needs to be changed, use the arrow keys, then press next. On the input settings screen, select the preferred test setting. In a quick test, the analyzer times interprets and displays test results. The full test provides the features of the quick test plus operator ID, patient name, and sample appearance. Once the preferred test setting is selected, touch next. In this example quick test has been selected. On the select your analysis test screen, select the type of strip to be used. Some strips may not be listed, but will be recognized automatically by the instrument during testing. After choosing a test strip, press select. The final start up setting determines how the your analysis units are presented. Options are conventional or standard US settings. SI or standard international settings. An Nordic settings. Press next after making the selection appropriate for your facility. Review the selections on the confirmation screen and make any necessary corrections. To confirm the settings, press done to return to the main select screen.
