This web-based training will provide the learner with a fundamental knowledge of how CT patient data is commonly managed. This course will cover filming hard-copy images, storing data on removable media and archiving on network devices. The participant will learn how the ever-increasing volume of CT information is frequently handled.

CT Data Management This web-based training will provide the learner with a fundamental knowledge of how CT patient data is commonly managed.  This course will cover filming hard-copy images, storing data on removable media and archiving on network devices. You will learn how the ever-increasing volume of CT information is frequently handled.     You should now be able to: Navigate the Patient Browser Identify the status of data in the Patient Browser Perform a Study Split examination Store data to a CD or DVD Export data to a USB drive Archive or network patient data Delete patient data Film patient data   Backup or store your data to approved media such as CD or DVD directly from your scanner. Note that traditional CDs and DVDs are not suitable for long-term storage of medical images. • Transfer data easily between systems • Not suitable for long-term storage • Do not plug/unplug during acquisition tasks Follow additional steps on the next three screens. Send data to other connected destinations - like other scanners, workstations, or computers. See the next five pages for more details.     Patient Scheduler Highlight patient's name to register all listed exams/accession numbers Second option: use Control key to select only those exams to be performed. Click Register to register the patient.   Study List Items Assign desired study (1) or protocol from the drop-down list (2).  Click Exam (3) to close Registration window. Ensure steps listed in the Chronicle are correct. Click OK to close Patient Model Dialog box. Protocols appear in examination card's upper right segment. Individual series or reconstructions are listed under each registered study. In Chronicle or individual Reconstruction box (1), assign desired Requested Procedure/Accession Number (4) from drop-down list (3) on Auto Tasking card (2).       A. Protocols display in appropriate groups after assignment of all exams or series or recons to Requested Procedure/Accession Number (upper right segment of Examination card) B. Load study. C. Begin examination.   From Patient Browser, select data to transfer Select patient folder to send the entire exam, or use CTRL key when clicking to select individual series NOTE: Unless specifically configured, raw data will not transfer as part of the entire exam. Selected series will be highlighted blue. From Toolbar, click Transfer > Send To. From dialogue box, select configured network node. Click Send. To open the correct drive on your Workstation: 1. open Patient Browser 2. Select Transfer from menu 3. Click "eject from…" 4. Select CD/DVD drive. 5. Insert a blank CD 6. Close the drive 1. From Patient Browser, select data to store 2. Select patient folder if you want to send the entire exam, or use CTRL key to select individual series when clicking. NOTE: By default, raw data will not transfer as part of entire exam. Selected series will be highlighted blue. 1. From patient browser menu, select Transfer  > Export to 2. Select CD/DVD 3. Click Export   1. Name the CD in dialogue box. Use only numbers, letters, and underscores. Three characters minimum; 11 maximum. 2. If needed, select "Viewing Tool" to add DICOM viewer to disk. Viewer will allow users - like physicians - to view images on a computer.   During recording, read/write status LED lights up orange. Once complete, it changes to green. To remove CD or DVD, select Transfer > Eject from patient browser menu. To finalize CD to prevent edits or changes, click Finalize Medium > Eject from DVD-Writer (selectable only if storage is completed).   1. Insert USB stick into port on front of Acquisition Workplace computer. 2. From Patient Browser, select data send to USB. 3. Select patient folder to send the entire exam, or use CTRL key to select individual series when clicking. NOTE: Unless specifically configured, raw data will not transfer as part of entire exam. Selected series will be highlighted blue. 1. In Patient Browser Menu, select Transfer > Export to Off-line. 2. When the Export to Off-line dialog box opens,  select LOCAL as Logical Name. The H:\Site Data\Offline path should auto-populate. 3. Variety of formats for data export      a. Select DICOM if transferring images to another system,     b. Select Bitmap or JPEG if exporting images to use in a presentation, for instance.     c. System can anonymize data automatically. 4. Click OK. Data is exported to USB device.   Before removing the USB device: 1. Ensure data transfer is complete. Look for a message at the bottom of the task card. 2. Click USB icon at the bottom right of the screen. 3. Click displayed popup menu to Safely Eject PNP (Plug and Play) Device. 4. Message "PNP Device can be Unplugged" displays. Remove USB device from USB port.   1. From Patient Browser, select the data to delete. 2. Select patient folder if you want to send the entire exam, or use CTRL key to select individual series when clicking.  NOTE:  RAW data can be selected for deletion. Selected series will be highlighted blue.     Select Delete icon (1) on toolbar at top of Patient Browser. Confirm deletion in dialogue box (2).  Preferred method of deleting patient data. Do not right mouse click and delete. 1. From the Patient Browser, select data to send to Filming Task Card. 2. Select patient folder if you want to send the entire exam, or use CTRL key to select individual series when clicking. NOTE: RAW data cannot be filmed. Selected series will be highlighted blue.   1. With desired images selected, click Copy to Film Sheet icon. Selected images are loaded to a virtual film sheet on Filming task card. 2. Click Filming tab to bring that screen to the front. Images in the Virtual Film Sheet can be formatted, zoomed, panned, cut, copied, or pasted before sending the job to the printer. To work with...  A single image: select it with the mouse. Several images:  hold CTRL key while selecting them with mouse. A range of images: hold the SHIFT key and select them with mouse.  An entire page of images: Click on film sheet border All film sheets: select patient folder icon. Before printing, 1.Select desired film sheet layout. On the Layout sub-task card choose from one-on-one up to 16-on-1 imaging to fit printing needs. To change layout for every film sheet, select the patient folder icon to activate the entire project before selecting the desired sheet layout. To delete images from the film sheet, use the methods previously discussed to select individual images, ranges of images, or pages of images.   Once selected (1), click the shredder icon (2). NOTE: Images are deleted from the film sheet only, not the database. Subsequent images move up - or repack - so that no empty segments are left. When all desired formatting is done, click the Expose Film Task icon to transfer all film sheets to the camera or printer.
