CT ECG Editing Somaris 7

Job Aid on how to ECG edit on Somaris 7 scanners.

CT ECG Editing – SOMARIS 7 SOMATOM Definition AS, AS+, Edge, Edge Plus, Flash, SOMATOM Drive, Force The ECG trace editor is used to modify the ECG signal. This editing tool is available after spiral scan data has been acquired. By using the right mouse menu on the Trigger tab card, you have access to several modification tools for the ECG Sync. In patients with only single or few extra- sys-tolic beats, overall image quality may be improved by editing the ECG prior to reconstruction. Note: The use of absolute values (ms or -ms) is recommended for editing. Please keep in mind that absolute gating (in ms) must be chosen if R-peaks (syncs) are deleted. Below is an example of an ECG trace with two PVC abnormalities occurring during the scan. You will see that using the -450ms recon method enabled the recon sync to auto adjust and be placed in the proper location despite the heart rate change. Also notice that the system did not recognize the second PVC and therefore did not place a recon sync on top of the second anomalous beat. Resetting ECG to Original Position The ECG trace may be reset to its original position at any time. In the lower right section of the Trigger Card, click in the Original ECG check box to reset. Confirm Original ECG with OK when asked following your next action. Note: ECG editing may require some trial and error to get the cardiac volume to align for its in- tended use. After each edit attempt, a series of images should be reconstructed and viewed in 3D to see if alignment has been achieved. Please note that the learning material is for training purposes only!
