Cleaning Cuvette Window Video

This video provides instructions on how to clean the cuvette window on the Dimension® Systems.

With the instrument in standby, raise the IMT and reagent lids. From the operating menu, access the window check screen by pressing F7 diagnostics. As five check windows. Press F1 start clean. There are two ways to remove a cuvet window using needle nose pliers or using the cuvet window extractor tool to remove a cuvet window using the extractor tool. Position the flat side of the extractor facing the cuvet ring an insert it straight down until it touches the top of the window. Tilt the handle towards you to grip the window an hold it in place. Pull the extractor up to remove the window. To remove a cuvet window using the needle nose pliers, grasp the top of the cuvet window with the pliers and pull the window straight up out of the cuvette wheel. When the message clean an replace window then press any key to continue appears. Remove the window indicated in the window access position on the cuvet ring. Clean the window with a lens tissue. If necessary. Water can also be used after cleaning. Reinstall the window. Press any key and wait for the message. Clean and replace window. Then press any key to continue to appear. Repeat these steps until all windows have been cleaned. When the instrument determines all the windows are clean, the message all windows have successfully passed QC appears. Close the reagent area lid. Press home or shift exit to return to the operating menu. Press the reset key to initialize the instrument. Document the completion of this procedure on the instrument log sheet.
