Cleaning R2 Probe Tip Video

The R2 reagent probe must be cleaned weekly to remove any residue. With the system and standby access, the HM Pump prime screen from the operating menu by pressing F for system prep. F7 pump prime. After raising the instrument lid, turn the spline shaft on the R2 reagent arm counterclockwise until the R2 probes lifts out of the reagent drain. Rotate the arm away from the drain until you can easily access the R2 probe. Moisten a clean cotton swab with reagent probe cleaner. A solution consisting of 0.1 normal sodium hydroxide. Scrub the nut at the top of the probe tube. Next, start at the top and wipe down the outside of the R2 reagent probe. Make sure to wipe all sides of the probe, then discard the swab into a biohazard waste container. Press F for reagent two to prime the R2 probe. Document the cleaning on the weekly maintenance log sheet.
