Dimension Vista® System Other Maintenance Online Training

Other Maintenance Procedures are available to troubleshoot and maintain the system. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Clean the Aliquot Drain Distinguish between three sensor types for replacement Perform maintenance of the Water Purification Module (WPM) system components Perform miscellaneous maintenance tasks Replace a fuse Welcome to the Dimension Vista® System Other Maintenance Online Training Course.  After completing this course, you will be able to: Select Next to continue. Congratulations.  You have completed the Other Maintenance Online Training Course. Once you have reviewed the content on this page, you may proceed to the assessment portion of the course.  Tip: Print this page for reference. In this course, you have learned how to: Perform a controlled shutdown and startup of the Dimension Vista® System: Shutdown the instrument under the Operation menu and follow prompts on screen to complete instrument shutdown.  Open the far right  instrument door to turn power switch to instrument off. When task is completed, turn power switch to on and the Dimension Vista System will start automatically.  A controlled shutdown will save all current data and alignments on the system.      Locate and replace a fuse: Fuses help prevent damage to the various system components if they become exposed to excessive current.  Generally, a Technical Solutions Center representative will assist you in identifying the fuse that needs to be replaced.  The AC/DC boards are located to the left of the instrument main power switch.  Spare fuses are in the spare parts kits.  Ensure the new fuse is of the correct type, voltage and current rating.     Distinguish between the three types of sensor attachments and replace a sensor: Optical sensors monitor position and movement of the various components on the instrument.  There are four possible types of attachments for the sensors; T10 screws, spring clip, and latches.  Perform a controlled shutdown of the instrument prior to replacement.  In most situations, a Technical Solutions Center representative will assist you in locating the sensor that requires replacement and verifying it is operational.    Clean the aliquot drain: Over time, debris from the aliquot probe will accumulate and may require that the aliquot drain be cleaned.  A clean out tool and stylet are needed to follow the procedure in the Operator’s Guide.      Miscellaneous Maintenance Tasks: These tasks may need to be performed periodically in response to process errors.  These tasks include: Routine IMT Clean Prime IMT System Pump Liquid Waste Select Next to continue. Now that you can identify the functions of various Diagnostics IT Systems, let’s head to the clinical laboratory to see how Diagnostics IT products facilitate laboratory workflow by taking a look at the typical lifecycle of a patient test—from ordering the test to reporting the result. In our “virtual” laboratory, you’ll see how a network of Diagnostics IT Systems interacts to effectively manage the many stages of data transfer that occur every day in a busy healthcare facility, such as when entering patient order information, querying for sample ID, and transmitting results. WPM Maintenance: The three main WPM components that require periodic maintenance include:   Progard®Pretreatment Pack Q-Gard®Polishing Pack RO Membrane   Maintaining WPM Components Learn how to maintain the components of the WPM on the Dimension Vista® System.
