Review QC Inventory: The QC Vial Inventory screen provides a complete listing of all control products onboard the instrument. The product name, lot number, expiration date and available volume display on this screen.  Any product that has expired or has no available volume will display in red.    Review QC results using the Routine and Advanced software: The Siemens informatics system provides the most comprehensive review of Quality Control data, but the Vista QC allows the ability to quickly review QC results in both the routine and advanced software screens.  Occasionally, a QC result may contain out of range results and it will generate an alert if it is configured on the system.  When the alert is selected, the system navigates to the System > Method Summary > QC screen in the software where results can be further investigated.  After the results are reviewed, the alert can be removed and QC can be ordered to rerun from this screen. QC results can also be reviewed using the advanced software.  Navigate to Advanced > QC > QC Panels and Results screen.  Note: It is necessary to be signed in under Admin to access the Advanced software screens. Order QC using the Routine and Advanced software: When it is necessary to repeat QC testing, it can be accomplished using both the Routine and Advanced software screens. The method, level and lot type are selected on the System > Method Summary > QC screen.  Next select the Rerun QC button on screen.  There are three options for repeat testing: Rerun only this method is the default option.  This will repeat QC on the same reagent lot and QC vial that was previously run. Rerun only this method but repeat using a sample cup.  This will rerun QC on the same method, and run a new sample of control in a sample cup.  The sample rack barcode and position must be entered or scanned in for this option. Run other methods from this control product.  This will rerun additional methods from the same control product and can be repeated using the same control vial or use a sample cup. It is possible to order QC for a single method or panel on the Advanced > QC > Order QC screen it is possible to order QC for a single method or panel.  This screen provides the advantage of allowing the operator to print replicate vial barcodes or order replicate QC testing if needed.
