epoc® eDM Lite Configurations Online Training Course

Configurations includes how to connect and update epoc hosts, load the latest eVAD file to the eDM Lite software, set the automatic printing of test records option, how to backup EDM Lite test data and how to troubleshoot if the eDM Lite software will not connect. 

The eDM Lite software is a simple data management application that supports the epoc® Blood Analysis System. It is intended to provide simple system maintenance and data management functionality for installations using a small number of epoc® Blood Analysis devices.  The eDM Lite software can be configured in the following ways: Facility information – Enter facility information that will appear in printed reports Connect epoc Hosts – Connect to eDM Lite software using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth Update epoc Hosts with the latest epoc System Software eVAD update – Load the latest eVAD file to eDM Lite Automatic printing – Automatically print each new test record to a printer Export results – Enable exporting results to an HL7 formatted file Data backup – Enable backups of the eDM Lite database Support – Enable logging in the event troubleshooting is necessary Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Describe how to connect Hosts to the eDM Lite software and update Hosts eDM Lite software Describe how to automatically print and export test results from the eDM Lite software List the steps on how to load the latest eVAD file to the eDM Lite software Identify how to backup data from the eDM Lite software to a specific file Congratulations. Connecting Hosts to the eDM Lite Software  The eDM Lite software can be configured to allow epoc Host connections using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth wireless technologies. In the Settings window, click on Connect epoc Hosts link to configure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Status bar located at the bottom of the main window will indicate the connection status for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. A green circle in the Link status indicates that the eDM Lite software is ready for epoc Host connections on the corresponding connection type A red circle in the Link status indicates that the eDM Lite software is NOT ready for epoc Host connections on the corresponding connection type. This may be the case if the Link is not configured or an error has occurred ​Updating Hosts The eDM Lite software provides the operator the ability to easily update epoc Host software. Loading epoc Host File Upgrade In eDM Lite Software: Select Settings in the top right corner to open the settings page Select Update epoc Hosts  Select the dotted icon to browse for the desired upgrade file Select Load Upgrade File Alternatively, select Download Upgrade File to download the upgrade from the epoc Live Update Service The Upgrade File Verification message box will open, containing the following information: epoc Host software version epoc Reader software version Sensor configuration Verify that the upgrade file contains the desired software versions Select OK to load the selected file or Cancel to ignore the selection Upgrading Hosts With New Software: Login and upgrade Receive upgrade Verify update ​ Facility Information Facility information that will appear in printed reports can be configured in the eDM Lite software. Select the Settings option in the top right section of the screen Select Facility Information to enter the facility name and address that you wish to appear on printed reports Select the desired language Select Save to save the setting ​ eVAD Updates  eDM Lite eVAD updates can be loaded by selecting a file or by downloading the new file from the epoc Live Service Update.   To load an eVAD file: Select Settings in the top right corner to open the settings page Select  eVAD Update  Select the icon to browse for the desired eVAD file Select Load eVAD file Alternatively, select Download eVAD file to download the new file from the epoc Live Update Service The eVAD File Verification message box will open containing the following information: eVAD filename Sensor configuration Corresponding VAD PDF file Verify that the desired eVAD file is loaded Click OK to load the selected eVAD file orCancel to ignore the selection Synchronize all epoc Hosts to receive the new eVAD file Verify that the epoc Host has loaded the desired eVAD file in the epoc Host information page Once the eVAD fle is properly loaded, each epoc Host will receive it the next time it synchonizes with the eDM Lite software Automatic Printing of eDM Lite Test Records  The eDM Lite software provides an auto-print feature that, when enabled, will automatically send every new test record received by the eDM Lite software to the pre-selected printer.   To enable the auto-print feature:   Select Settings in the top right corner to open the settings page Select Automatic printing  Select the box labeled Automatically print received test records Select the printer where the test records will be sent or select the location for saving as a PDF file Select Save to save the settings Exporting eDM Lite Test Results  The eDM Lite Software can export test results to an HL7-formatted text file to a designated folder that can be read by a third-party application such as an LIS or HIS. To configure exporting test results: Select Settings in the top right corner to open the settings page Select Export results  Check the box labeled Allow exporting test results to an HL7 formatted text file Select the desired options and tap Save to save the settings How To Backup the eDM Lite Database The eDM Lite software data backup settings allows users to enable daily backups of eDM Lite database to a preferred location. To configure data backups on the eDM Lite software: Select the Settings button located at the top right of the page Select Data Backup Check the Backup eDM Lite database box Select a backup folder to save the files to Select Backup now Note: Files will be deleted after seven days Support   The eDM Lite software Support settings should remain set to the default values and should not be changed unless requested by Technical Services to assist with more detailed eDM Lite software troubleshooting.   Warning: Changing these settings may significantly increase disk space usage and affect application performance. Use only when advised by Technical Services to assist with eDM Lite software troubleshooting. ​ The eDM Lite software provides the operator the ability to easily update epoc Host software. Tab TitleTextLogin and Upgrade Login as Administrator Select Tools>Perform Upgrade>From EDM Receive Upgrade The epoc Host will receive the upgrade file from the eDM Lite software. Upgrade Received Tap the red X icon at the top right corner of the screen to initiate the upgrade. The epoc Host will reboot and upgrade the software. Verify Update When the login screen appears, verify that the new software version is now running. Loading Host Software Learn more about how to load the new Host software. Status FieldHTML The Status field will indicate that the eDM Lite software is listening on the configured IP address:Port. The eDM Lite software is now ready for epoc Hosts to connect over Wi-Fi.
