epoc® Enterprise Data Manager Software Overview Online Training Course

Software overview includes identifying the steps to log in and out of the software, identifying and describing the hardware and software requirements necessary to access to EDM, describing how to connect and login to the EDM, and describing the main features of the software.

The epoc® Enterprise Data Manager or EDM is a web-based software package that is used by the Point of Care Coordinator (POCC) to collect Blood and QA test results, configure and manage usage and inventory from multiple epoc® devices located in multiple departments throughout a hospital enterprise, as well as to control and manage the epoc® Hosts usage and inventory. Net Framerwork 4.6.1 or newer Database Server: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012, express or standard edition  Web Server: Microsoft Internet Information Services (version is dependent on the OS) Internet Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 11, Chrome 48.0.x or higher or Firefox 44.0 or higher Connecting to the Enterprise Data Manager The connection between the epoc Host and epoc Link is made through a Wireless Access Point (WAP) of the Local Area Network (LAN), or it can be performed setting up a wireless ad-hoc (PC to PC) type of connection.  The epoc Host must be configured with the appropriate connection settings (IP address orname, and port number) of the epoc EDM PC. The screenshot from the epoc Host illustrates the connection settings for the epoc enterprise Data Manager on the epoc Host. The name may be substituted for the IP address. A Siemens engineer is reponsible for the installation of EDM on a customer suppllied server or PC.  Logging Into the Enterprise Data Manager The epoc® Enterprise Data Manager will start automatically when the EDM computer is started. Using a supported web browser, users can access the EDM Web Application from any LANconnected computer by entering the EDM’s web address (URL). To login to the epoc Enterprise Data Manager, enter the user ID and password assigned by your Siemens Healthineers distributor.  Main Features of the Enterprise Data Manager The Enterprise Data Manager is equipped with a number of features that makes the software convenient to the Point-of-Care Coordinator:  Blood Tests Page: Menu banner, scrollable table, series of buttons to save changes and print reports, test details for a selected test QA Tests:  displays QA test records for specific time periods Reports: allows the operator to filter through three sections of data- Thermal QA, Usage statistics and the patients list  Inventory: contains information about the inventory of Hosts, Readers, card lots and printers Settings: allows the operator to access user and host settings, departments, configurations, QA schedules and EDM settings pages   Access EDM from any network connected workstation using Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox Manage patient, QA, and Electronic QC test results transmitted from one or more epoc Blood Analysis Systems over Wi-Fi connections Manage configurations for devices located in multiple departments Manage device operator certifications, permissions and test card inventory Configure QA Schedules for epoc Reader QA operator lockout Update epoc System software and Electronic Value Assignment Datasheets (eVADS) Print and export epoc blood and QA test results to a PDF or CSV file and Usage Statistics reports automatically to a printer  Manage an HL7 Interface to send test results to other Hospital systems such as an LIS/HIS Receive Hospital ADT for Patient ID Lookup capability  The connection between the epoc Host and the EDM is made by connecting the epoc Host to a wireless network.  Connecting to EDM Learn more about connecting to EDM.  A Siemens engineer is responsible for the installation of the EDM on a customer supplied server or PC.
