This is an introduction to the Focused Abdominal Sonography in Trauma (FAST), and the Extended FAST exam. ​

Focused Abdominal Sonography in Trauma (FAST), and the extended FAST exams.  In this high-level overview you will be familiarized with some of the ultrasound views, transducer selections and presets used to image the lung and abdominal peritoneum.  The FAST exam can quickly help clinicians rule out the presents or absence of blood or fluid accumulation in the peritoneum lining of the abdomen area. The extended or eFAST adds additional views for the plural space and lung tissues to rapidly determine normal from abnormal lung composition and movement.    Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to: Discuss clinical scenario for focused ultrasound exams.
