Fusion Max: Ortho Image Acquisition Sequence

This sbs will guide User on how to set up and acquire images on the Fusion MAX system.

Ortho Image Acquisition Sequence Fusion Max Image Acquisition: 1. Select the desired Patient, and then select “Step 1” of the corresponding OGP based on Patient size (Small, Medium/Normal, Robust/Large) o H2F: Head to Foot acquisition (Leg Length Studies) o F2H: Foot to Head acquisition (Scoliosis Studies) 2. Insert the detector (crosswise or portrait), the 300cm grid, and then position the “Ortho Stand” in front of the wallstand. o DO NOT engage the “Tracking” button at this point. 75º 60 11: 00 45º 3. Detent the Tube transversely and longitudinally towards the wallstand at the 300cm (118”) SID. 4. Take TOD measurements of the patient (distance from the “Ortho Stand” to the body part being examined). 5. Raise the tube, keeping it perpendicular to the wallstand for the “First Ortho Position”. Utilize the red laser light position the beam for the top of the first image should be. Select the “Top Position” icon to store the top position. To set the lower position, lower the tube and line the red laser light up to indicate the bottom of the last image. Engage “Tracking” at the wallstand, or at the Remote Control Console (RCC). The tube will then move into the “First” Ortho Position. O This X-ray patient and of factors, o maintenanc 9. Press the exposure button. Release the exposure switch, the image will appear and the tube will automatically move to the next ortho position. Repeat until all acquisitions are taken. H STOP. WARNING This X-ray unit may be dangerous to patient and operator unless safe exposure factors, operating instructions and maintenance schedules are observed. SIEMENS 10. When performing both an AP and Lateral view (the spine for example), once the first view is complete, clear the ortho data on the TUI before starting the next view. To clear the ortho data, exit the ortho screen by pressing the “Exit” icon on the lower left corner of the TUI. To re-open the ortho screen, hold down the “Ortho” icon on the bottom left corner of the TUI. 9.0 cm 1/2 LIIII I DO 300cm Siemens Healthineers Services Page 3 of 5 © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2017 Job Aid | Fusion MAX Ortho Image Acquisition Effective Date: 03/24/2018 | Quality HOOD0516200855237 Things to remember:  Ortho studies should not be done as a part of a “multiple” exam.  Scoliosis Studies are acquired Foot to Head.  Leg Lengths are acquired Head to Foot.  Tracking must only be engaged once start/stop positions are entered on the TUI.  It IS NECESSARY to enter the TOD at both the TUI and FLC.  If the tube is set up to read in inches, the TOD will also display in inches.
