Fusion Max VF Ortho Acquisition Job Aid

This job aid will guide the end user through the steps of setting up the fusion  max system for ortho acquisitions

Fusion Max: Ortho Image Acquisition (VF Software) XPRF 1. Select the desired patient, and then select the corresponding OGP based on projection of the body part (Ap or Lat, single leg or both legs). Next, select the patient size (small, medium/normal, robust/large). 2. If you are using a wireless detector (Wi-D), insert the detector (crosswise or portrait). o Insert the 300cm (118 inch) grid o Place the “Ortho Stand” centered in front of the wallstand. DO NOT engage the “Tracking” button at this point. 75º 009 OSt 11:00 3. Detent the tube transversely and longitudinally towards the wallstand at the 300cm (118”) SID. 4. Measure the Table Object Distance (TOD) for the area of interest (this is the distance from the “Ortho Stand” to the body part being examined). o Enter the TOD on the TUI (Touch User Interface) located on the overhead tube in the Ortho Menu. Note: The TOD unit of measurement will be in inches on the TUI. Use the conversion chart located at the bottom of this document to convert the TOD taken in cm’s into inches prior to inputting the measurement on the TUI. Insert the TOD measurement. ? 6. Set “First Ortho Position” by raising the tube (keep the tube perpendicular to the wallstand). o Utilize the red laser light (not the light field) to position the beam. The top of the laser light represents the top of the first image in the ortho series. o Select the “Top Position” icon to store the first position. o To set the last position of the ortho series, lower the tube and align the red la- ser light to indicate where the bottom of the last image should be. o Select the “Lower Position” icon to store the last position. 9.0 cm 0/0 ? o The number of acquisitions needed to cover the designated anatomy will dis- play on the TUI (maximum of 4 images). 9:0 cm 1/2 SIEMENS Unrestricted 0 Published by Siemens Healthcare GmbH © Siemens Healthcare GmbH, 2020 Job Aid Effective Date: 04/20/2020 | HOOD05162003086429 Healthineers Page 2 of 8 Job Aid | Fusion VF Software Ortho Image Acquisition Effective Date: 04/20/2020 | HOOD05162003086429 o Collimation height is calculated by the system, DO NOT adjust collimation height. o Collimation width can be adjusted manually. 7. If performing both an AP and Lateral view (i.e. the spine), it is recommended to finalize the stitching of the first projection and save the image before continuing to the next view. o Stitch the first view (AP or Lateral) o Choose the OGP for the next projection from the " Examination" tab o Repeat the positioning and image acquisition for the next projection 10. Once the images are acquired, they will automatically stitch together. At this stage, review the accuracy of the aligned images and make any necessary adjustments to complete the study. Adjusting the image: Note: Blending is automatically applied to the image once it is stitched. o Blending compensates for techniques required for multiple AEC exposures and has a smoothing effect. o It is recommended that the image be “unblended” to ensure proper alignment. Al- ways make sure “blending” is turned on before you save your final image.
