How to Enable HandCARE Computed Tomography 1. HandCARE helps to reduce the direct radiation exposure to the operator's hand during interventional procedures. This is typically used when a physician remains in the room to manipulate the biopsy instrument during radiation exposure. 2. To enable HandCARE, select the desired HandCARE position from the drop down menu on the Intervention tab card. This position should correlate to the location of the operator's hand within the gantry, and coincides with positions on a clock: 10 o'clock, 12 o'clock or 2 o'clock.
