How to Perform a Spot Tomo Spot compression with Tomosynthesis can be used to depict a smaller area of the breast deemed suspicious with increased compression using the Spot Plus compression plate. 1. Register the patient. 2. Attach the Spot Plus compression plate. 3. Add or modify views as needed to a Tomo or 2D + Tomo projection. CC mlo 4. Activate the exposure by double clicking on the icon, if not yet active. 5. Position the breast and compress. 6. Perform the exposure. 7. Check whether the lesion is located within the spot area. If necessary, adjust the bounding box and reconstruct. Out-of-plane artifacts might be visible in slices which are close to the spot area. They might also appear in Insight 2D and 3D images. The DICOM View modifier for the slices does not include the “s” label. Insight 2D and 3D with Spot Plus: “s” is adjusted correctly in the DICOM labels.
