IMMULITE® 2000 Immunoassay System Daily Maintenance Online Training

Daily maintenance includes performing daily maintenance procedures required for the optimal performance of the IMMULITE® 2000 Immunoassay System. This clinical laboratory training qualifies for continuing education units (CEU).

Welcome to the IMMULITE® 2000 System Daily Maintenance Online Training course.  This course introduces you to the daily maintenance procedures: Logging off and restarting the computer Performing daily probe cleaning Launching the software Checking the consumables Priming the DRDs, water probe, and substrate probe Select Next to continue.     Check the consumables Launch the software Log off the software and restart the computer Perform daily probe cleaning Prime the substrate, DRDs and water probes Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to: Select Next to continue. Congratulations. You have completed the IMMULITE 2000 Daily Maintenance Online Training course. Listed below are the key points that have been presented. Take time to review the material before you proceed to the final quiz.    Log off the software: Ensure the system is in Stop mode. Select the Log Off button on the Home Screen. A confirmation message appears.  Select OK to proceed. A second message appears informing you that the system will delete patient, control, verifier and adjustor records over a certain number of days. Select continue to log off the system. Restart the computer: Select the Start button on the lower left-hand corner of the screen and select Shut Down. When the shut down window appears, select restart the computer followed by the Yes button, or Restart depending on which prompt appears. Press the Enter key at the Log on Information window to return to the Windows desktop.  A password is not required. Perform daily probe cleaning: Initialize Daily Probe Cleaning Diagnostic Load a 12 x 75 mm tube with probe cleaning solution and an empty reaction tube on the system Select 'Lift Cover, Place an Empty Reaction Tube on the Shuttle' Select 'Lift Cover and Press to Observe Dispense Angle' Check the Sample Probe Dispense Angle Select 'Press to Stop Dispense' Exit Diagnostics Launch the software: Double click on the IMMULITE 2000 icon on the desk top. Select the Run IMMULITE 2000 icon on the Startup screen. After the software initializes, acknowledge the prompts that appear on the screen. Check the consumables: Loading Water -  Fill the water bottle with distilled/de-ionized water.  Do not disconnect the tubing from the valve at the back of the water bottle while the system is in RUN mode. Loading Probe Wash - Each 200 mL bottle of concentrated probe wash must be diluted with 1800 mL of distilled/de-ionized water before it is used. Do not disconnect the tubing from the probe wash bottle while the instrument is in RUN mode. Loading Substrate - Allow the substrate to reach room temperature.  Pipette substrate from the refill bottle into the substrate reservoir. Loading Reaction Tubes - Grasp the reaction tube hopper handle and swing it toward you. Fill the reaction tube hopper. Emptying Solid Waste -  Remove the biohazard bag filled with used reaction tubes. Put a new biohazard bag in the solid waste container. Flip the tube deflector forward and replace the container on the system, with the deflector at the back end. Emptying Liquid Waste - Push the dark gray button on the liquid waste bottle fitting to release the valve, while pulling the tube out. Remove the liquid waste bottle. Empty the liquid waste bottle and place it on the system.  Reconnect by inserting the valve at the end of the waste line tubing until it clicks into place. Prime the substrate: Remove the substrate probe from its holder next to the bead/tube wash station. Check for white precipitate at the end of the substrate nozzle. If necessary, gently wipe the nozzle with a clean swab or lint-free, dry tissue. Hold the substrate probe over a clean beaker or other external container. Press and release the green PRIME button. The pump primes four times. Continue to prime until there is a steady stream of substrate and no air in the tubing. Place the substrate probe back into its holder. Prime the DRDs: Select the Cover button on the vertical toolbar in the software to release the lock. Raise the main cover. Select the Prime button on the vertical toolbar and enter in the number of primes from the replicates window.  Alternatively, the green Prime button next to the substrate reservoir can be used to prime the DRDs. Continue priming until all bubbles are removed from the DRDs. Prime the water probes: Remove the water probe from the bead/tube wash station. Hold the water probe over a clean beaker or other external container. Press and release the green Prime button. The pump primes four times. Continue to prime until there is a steady stream of water and no air in the tubing. Place the water probe back into its holder. Select Next to continue.   Logging Off the System: Automatically initiates a system back-up Restarting the Computer: Allows the operating system to copy program files Protects the software in case of a power failure Logoff and Restart Learn about logging off and restarting the system. Tab TitleTextLogging Off the System To log off the software, first ensure the system is in Stop mode.  Select the Log Off button on the Home Screen.  A confirmation message appears.  Select OK to proceed. A grey screen appears with the message “Preparing to Backup Files… Please Wait”. Next, a message appears indicating the amount of days worth of results that will be saved during the backup.  Select Continue to proceed. Restarting the Computer To restart the computer, select the Start button on the lower left-hand corner of the screen and select Shut Down. When the shut down window appears, select restart the computer followed by the YES button, or Restart depending on which prompt appears.  Press the Enter key at the Log on Information window to return to the Windows desktop.  A password is not required.
