Introduction to Luminos Agile and Luminos Agile MAX

This web-based course focuses on the key features of the Luminos Agile and the Luminos Agile MAX systems including table accessories, tableside controls, digital imaging tower and the touch user interface.

Introduction to the Luminos Agile MAX   By the end of this course, you should be able to: • Correctly perform start-up and shut down procedures • Identify the key hardware features of the Luminos Agile system including tableside controls, the digital imaging tower, touch user interface and the wireless detector • Identify the MAX features of the system System Functions This section includes information about: Start-up and Shutdown Procedures Tableside Controls Opti-Grip Features and Functions The Digital Imaging Tower (DIT) Control Panel Touch User Interface Screen (TUI) Room Start-up Press the On button to power-on (or boot-up) the system. The X-ray room and computer are turned on and off by this same button.    The start-up/boot-up process for the Luminos Agile system takes approximately 3 minutes and only 90 seconds for the Luminos Agile MAX.  Do not move the system or the mouse during this time. Press the Off button to turn the system off at the end of the day.  Power will still be going to the table and wall stand.  The system should be re-booted on a daily basis. System Power-On Process Switch the main circuit breaker in the room ON. Press the ON button on the Generator ON/OFF console. The detector will require a warm-up lasting between 60-120 minutes. Fluoro and image acquisition is possible during this time but there will be reduced image quality. System Functions Activate Parking of Digital Imaging Tower (DIT) Activate Unparking of the DIT Patient Transfer Vertical Patient Transfer Horizontal Table Tilt - Table will stop at 0° Overhead Tube Park Override Tube/Detector Centering Table Height Adjustment - Table will move lowest when the DIT is parked Table Top Movement - Table will stop when it is centered either transverse or longitudinal You have now completed the course Introduction to Luminos Agile and Luminos Agile MAX Systems.  You should now be able to: • Correctly perform start-up and shut down procedures • Identify the key hardware features of the Luminos Agile system including tableside controls, the digital imaging tower, touch user interface and the wireless detector • Identify the MAX features of the system DIT Parking Parking the DIT using the motorized function is a 4-step process: 1. Press P, either tableside or on the DIT. 2. Move the DIT transversely until the light displays. 3. Move the DIT vertically until compression lock light displays. 4. Press and hold the P button at tableside until DIT is parked. Unparking the DIT Unparking the DIT is a motorized function as well. To unpark: 1. Press and hold the Unpark button from tableside or on the DIT. Note: All system motorized movements are dead man's functions. This means that the movment will only occur as long as the operator depresses the button for that function. Safety Features Emergency Stop All system movements and release of radiation are disabled. Emergency Stop Reset Turn Emergency Stop button clockwise and release. System movements and release of radiation are now enabled. Bucky Tray The bucky tray is located just below table top. Pull the knob to slide the tray longitudinally along the table. Foot Board Lead Shield/Skirt Click the links below to watch video demonstrations of the key functions for the Luminos Agile system, the Emergency Stop button, the Bucky tray, and the attachment and removal of the foot board, attachment and removal of the lead skirt (or apron), and inserting and removal of the counter weights. NOTE: When inserting or removing the lead skirt (or apron) on the Luminos Agile MAX, you will pull out on the skirt to release it. Firmly grasp the handle and ensure the 2 blue lights illuminate in order to perform any of the functions. Opti-Grip Functions Exposure Release - can be configured for fluoro or acquisition Motorized Collimator Adjustment - press the center button to open the collimator backup feature  Fluoro Release - this button is located on the back of the Opti-Grip Motorized Table Tilt Motorized Tabletop Movement     DIT Control Panel - System Functions Activates/deactivates DIT transverse & Longitudinal brakes(DIT) Activates/deactivates centering of the DIT Table Tilt Override - When active, the table will not stop at 0° when tilting up or down Overhead Tube Park Override - Allows for table movement when overhead tube is not in park position Switches on/off room lights and DVD recorder (if configured) Fluoro Timer Reset - This will activate after 5 minutes of active fluoro time Activates/deactivates DIT vertical brake Compression cone in/out (optional) Park/Unpark motorized control for DIT DIT Control Panel - Organ Program Parameters Toggle between series and single shot Increase/decrease frame rate on multi-frame acquisition Store Image - This will save last image hold (LIH) images Start/Stop Loop - Replay of multi-frame acquisition or stored loops of fluoro (optional) Increase/decrease pulsed fluoro rates Store Fluoro Loop (optional) - Store dynamic loops of fluoro. The length of loop dependent on pulsed fluoro used.   DIT Control Panel - Magnification Modes Fluoro Zoom Formats (Zoom 1, 2, 3) Zoom 1 - 11.8 x 11.8 inches Zoom 2 - 8.7 x 8.7 inches Zoom 3 - 5.9 x 5.9 inches Full Field Format 16.5 x 16.8 inches   DIT Features Collision Protection Electronic safety switches (1) are located on both sides of the DIT. They stop the movement of the DIT when they are touched. To deactivate the switches, move the DIT slowly in the opposite direction. DIT Lead Shielding Lead shield is one piece. Press in to unlatch and remove. To attach, slide into place until you feel it latch. Store the lead shield on wall-mounted unit when not in use. DIT Counter-Weights To be used if lead shielding is removed. Place in the top right side of the DIT behind the control panel. Store the counterweights in the wall-mounted unit when not in use. Manual Release of DIT Parking Brake • For immediate movement of the DIT in emergency situations • Located on the back of the DIT • Squeeze levers together (as shown) to release the DIT parking brake • DIT can then be manually moved in or out *On the Luminos Agile MAX, there is one lever that will release the DIT when you slide it to the right. Touch  User Interface (TUI)  Screen The TUI is separated into 3 sections: Left-side Panel - Fluoro parameters Center Panel - Acquisition & radiographic parameters Right-side Panel - Image review and system setup All parameters necessary for a patient examination are displayed on the Touch User Interface. Fluoro Parameters Functions include: Fluoro kV, mA, and cumulative fluoro time. Store Fluoro (optional). Stores a dynamic loop of fluoro. Length of loop depends on pulsed fluoro used (if present). Fluoro 5-minute alarm reset. CAREVision (pulsed fluoro) pulse rates are 15, 10, 7.5, and 3 pulses per second.  High-speed (30 pulses per second) is also available but only on full field (no zoom) and Zoom 2.   The sub task cards available on the Touch Screen User Interface includes functions for image review and system setup. Image Subtask Card This subtask card allows you to: Review images already acquired Save LIH (last image hold) fluoro images Re-mask and pixel shift on DSA images (optional) Send images to the reference monitor or folder (monitor optional) Review loops of fluoro or multi-frame acquisitions Note:  The status area (header) of the TUI will show:  Table Height, Table Tilt, Park Status, Grid In/Out, Collimated Field Size, Movement Disabled, and Radiation Disabled Tools Subtask Card This subtask card allows you to: Review images for the current patient Add right or left markers to an image Lock collimator values Mark and unmark images to be sent to the network Setup Subtask Card The Setup subtask card is for system setup and orientation. Orientation of image from top to bottom – for patients who are feet first on the table Orientation of image from left to right – for patients who are prone on the table Reverse tabletop movement. This applies to movement from the Opti-Grip or tableside control DVD recording (optional). Record live fluoro loops on the fly CAREPosition on/off (optional). Radiation-free positioning of the patient Disable system movement. Disables all movement of the table, DIT, overhead tube (if present), and wall stand (if present) Disable radiation. Extended Exposure:  Used on thinner patients to lower the mA and increase the exposure time when using AEC. Top Alignment:  When collimating top to bottom, the tube will align itself to the center of the new collimated field. Good for smaller patient chest exams at the wall stand. Store Collimation:  Will recall the collimated field size from the last exposure. Guidelines for Cleaning & Disinfecting the MAXTouch TUI Do not spray the MAXTouch directly Wipe the MAXTouch only with a clean, damp cloth Do not let cleaning liquids seep in to the openings of the system Wall Stand Features The wall stand will be configured for the MAX Static (fixed detector) or for Wi-D operation. Wi-D will be configured for portrait or landscape orientation Motorized and manual wall stand movement Tilting capability (horizontal to -20º). Removable grid Wall Stand Remote Control 1. Parking position for overhead tube 2. Centering button (tube to wall stand) 3. Tracking button (tube to wall stand) 4. Collimator light 5. OGP button (not functional) Changing the Batteries The battery is located on the back of the MAX Wi-D and MAX Mini.  Changing the battery is a 3-step process. 1. Locate the battery on the back of the detector. 2. Turn the lock on the handle to the Unlock position. 3. Lift the battery and remove it. Battery Charger Standard with the MAX Mini; optional with the MAX Wi-D. Both the wi-D and MAX wi-D can remain charged when placed in either the table bucky tray or optional wallstand. Charging time is approximately 4 hours Standard operating time is 7-8 hours Guidelines for Cleaning & Disinfecting the MAXTouch & Wi-D Do not spray the MAXTouch directly Wipe the MAXTouch only with a clean, damp cloth Do not let cleaning liquids seep in to the openings of the Wi-D system For cleaning the Wi-D system, use common surface disinfectants (aldehyde and/or amphotenic-based) Protecting the portable detector with a single-use plastic bag is strongly recommended
