Understanding how to navigate 4 DM helps optimize use of the application. First, load your patient datasets in 40 M personal. This is done in the browser screen. On the browser screen there are two tabs local where you access databases on your workstation and remote where you can locate databases on a DICOM connected workstation. On either tab, the left panel is where you select your source database or directory in the center panel. At the top is the filter criteria. Below that is where the patient data sets display. Click refresh to view available patients. The right panel is where the 4D M button is located, which loads the selected datasets into 40M as well as the list of destination databases and directories which can be used to transfer data sets to. In 40 M integrated loading your patient will vary based on the platform that four DM is integrated on. In most cases, you'll perform similar steps of locating your data source and selecting your patient and launching the application. Once your patients are loaded into 40 M, you can view or change the patient displayed using the patient selector. The workflow selector automatically displays the appropriate workflow depending on the study type of patient loaded. Workflow screens display below and are organized from top to bottom following standard clinical routine. These screens can be reordered, removed and new screens added in preferences. To the right of your workflow screens is the Patient Information Panel, which contains relevant information for each data set open in the image display window. This information changes based on the workflow screen currently displayed. Right clicking anywhere in this panel allows you to view and edit basic patient or data set information. Four DM shows up to four patient datasets at one time. Click the data set layout selector to view additional datasets. On the lower left side of the application you'll find the control panel. These controls stay constant no matter what 40M screen you display. The main uses of this area are creating reports, saving, configuring screens and workflows, and setting user specific and global preferences. Click the preferences button for both configuration and local or global preference settings. The Help Button provides access to the user's guide as well as version an license information. At the top you'll find the toolbar which contains tools available for use on that screen. These tools change for each screen. The more commonly used tools include the toggle color bar and dropdown menus. To toggle a tool on or off, simply click on tools with an arrow displayed, click the arrow to access the slider functionality. Click the groove on the slider either to the left or right of the indicator to adjust the setting by one increment or click and drag the indicator to the desired location. Click and drag on the edges of a color bar to adjust the brightness and contrast. Double click on either edge to reset it. Right click on the primary color bar to select a color scheme for all display datasets. Right click on the secondary color bar to select a color scheme for datasets one through 4, activating it by clicking the corresponding data set numbers. Right click the color bar and select the last menu listing to expand the intensity map menu to choose a different intensity range. Some tools when clicked open a dropdown menu. One of the most commonly used is the quant map menu used to select an view alternate polar map displays. Additional tools are activated by clicking on an image within the display window. The Sydney control works like a standard video control. Additionally, click the frame rocking tool to repeat a specific set of frames. If the city is in motion, you can click the increase or decrease any rate buttons. Right click the Sini slider to modify Sini an rock options. Click and drag to the left or right on the slice displays to activate the slice alignment tool. There is a dog year tool in the top right corner of certain images. Click the Black triangle to view the image. Slice by slice or the Gray triangle to reverse the slice display on any score diagram, click a segment. To increase the assign score or right click the segment to decrease. Right clicking most objects within four DM provides additional display options.
